You're at least 50 years old and you're picking fights on an internet message board. Talk about grown men.
Oof, this is out of the pan into the fryer post-game game thread today. All I will say is I am thankful for my fellow realist fans. I might go crazy without you fellas!
Nah!I knew we would.lose.This team with the exception of Jackson feasted on scrub QBs and teams for 7 weeks If the saints didn't have 22 players out.on Monday they would have beat us also. All this 7 game win streak probally did was save Grier's job.
I'm not picking fights. It's butthurt tua fan boys, such as yourself, that attack me for being right and pointing it out. I suppose I should just sit back and take the insults huh? You also can go cry some more
The thing that hurts the most is seeing Dolphins fans happy and ****-a-hoop that we've lost, just so they can dump on Tua and give it the big 'I am' saying ''look at me, I told you so. Didn't I tell you so?''.
I get it, no one likes to be told "I told you so" and shown that they were wrong. As adults though, you need to learn to deal with that.
It must be hard to take everything in life so personally; and the worst part is that he appears to be a casual fan that has very little concept of the game.
LMAO, but your "I told you so" is something like, "Tua will have a bad game." Then we win seven straight, he finally has a bad game, and here you are screaming, "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!" As an adult, you need to realize that you were wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong again, wrong one more time, then wrong once more, wrong again and finally you were right. But you're still wrong because one bad game out of eight does not get anyone replaced in the NFL. This is certainly not one of those "I told you so moments" if you're a Dolphins fan.
My I told you so is that Tua is not a franchise QB. He's a game manager, not worth the #5 overall pick. He played decect this year against lesser competition for the most part. Once again, just like buffalo last year, when he needs to shine, he falls flat on his face. He had two other interceptions dropped today. One hit the defender right in his hands. If we picked him in the 3rd round, where he should have been picked, then i wouldn't be upset. We wasted a valuable pick on him. So everyone on here that has been praising Tua, even though he's proven nothing, was wrong. He is not, nor will he ever be the answer.
Regardless of who was right or wrong (and note that it's easier to be right by predicting the QB will not pan out because that's usually what happens), I don't get this view that somehow draft position matters. I'd be equally upset today with our QB regardless of when we drafted him, or whether he was a FA acquisition or was even undrafted. Why be less upset if he was drafted lower? We need a very good QB or our chances of winning the SB vastly diminish, and it's really irrelevant what draft pick was used when thinking about that. Draft position is crucial for evaluating Grier, not Tua.
Disagree with he had one bad game. In my opinion he had 3 in a row.The ****ty jets game he didn't play well and against the saint they had 22 players out and he led to 1 Td. Not a franchise QB.
Because he had no business being drafted that high. We could have gotten a better player at another position of need at 5 and drafted a QB in the 3rd round that gives us what tua gives us. And you're right. Grier needs to go.
Yeah.. still don't get it. I'd be equally upset regardless of draft position even if we could have gotten someone better.
My opinion he was a 4th rd talent at best especially coming off a hip injury.Only the moron dolphins would have drafted him that high. Hell as bad as Texans are they didn't even consider him in the Watson trade from what I read
So you'd be equally upset that your 3rd or 4th round QB played like trash as you would be about your top 5 pick QB playing like trash? That wouldn't piss you off more knowing that we wasted a valuable pick?
Yeah I'd be equally upset. Let me ask it to you this way (and note there's no "right" or "wrong" here). Suppose your team plays in the SB and you lose the SB because of a clear error or set of errors by the QB. I can't imagine being more or less upset at the QB because of that QB's draft position. The only thing I'd care about is how the QB played. For me QB performance is all that determines how I think about the QB. Draft position is crucial for evaluating the GM, not QB. Anyway, it's fine to have different views on this.
That makes no sense. So he is saying 1st Rd picks have no more value than a 3rd or 4th Rd pick. In that logic giving up 3 first Rd picks for Watson is no different than giving up 3 4th Rd picks.
In your scenario, our top 5 pick QB or our 4th round pick QB played well enoigh to get us to the Super Bowl. Clearly he was a good pick regardless of where he wss drafted. So no, I wouldn't bring up draft position in that scenario. I'd actually think we got a steal in the 4th round. If our 4th round QB had us at .500 every year, it would almost be expected. You don't expect that with a top 5 pick QB
I didn't want to draft Tua because I thought he was one of those most overated QBs I have ever seen coming out of college. I was hoping I was wrong about him and he did have some decent games but I never saw any elite traits out of him like I did with Burrow and Herbert. Today I have seen enough and I am ready to go all in on Watson!.
Same here. I think the issue is a lot of the posters on here don't watch college football, so they don't see these guys first hand. They just hear a name of some good college QB and run with it. I'm on board with Watson only if his legal trouble is over
Actually you do. Look at the QBs drafted top 5, say since 2000: http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/qb Vick, (David) Carr, Harrington, Palmer, Eli Manning, Rivers, Smith, Young, Russell, Ryan, Stafford, Sanchez, Bradford, Newton, Luck, RG3, Bortles, Winston, Mariota, Goff, Wentz, Trubisky, Mayfield, Darnold, Murray, Burrow, Tua, Lawrence, Wilson, Lance. Last 3 are too early to evaluate though they're doing really poorly, but otherwise it's more likely a top 5 QB is a bust or at best average than anything better than .500. I do agree the expectation of better play is higher, but it's still less than .500. QB evals are hard. EDIT: checking their records it's actually about equally likely for a top 5 pick being .500 or less vs greater than .500
That's probably because usually, top 5 picks go to bad teams. I'd say that you'd expect your first round QB to come in a produce pretty quickly and hopefully see some improvement and something that shows you he's the guy moving forward. The expectations are lower, the lower a player is drafted, obviously. Tua really hasn't progressed from last year and in my opinion, he's not going to get much better
No one likes to see so-called adult fans of their team reduced to gloating at a loss, just to prove a point - and a very moot point at that. Your argument has all the childish validity of 'my dad's truck is bigger than your dad's truck' which, quite frankly, you really should have left behind in primary school.
Yeah, cos 8 weeks ago, everybody be like 'Aw, that's ok. It's only Jacoby Brissett. He didn't cost us anything. So what he's thrown 3 interceptions and missed countless open receivers. It's no big deal. So he cost us the game? It doesn't matter. It's not like he cost us a valuable pick or anything. We'll get over it...'
Right and tua cost us A LOT and isn't producing either. With brissett it's what you would expect. With a QB picked #5, you'd expect a little bit more. Brissett wasnt a waste of a top 5 draft pick. Tau is
Nah, I clearly did. You were trying to talk down to me, like I'm stupid but trying to do it in a nice way.
It doesn't matter. Fans get equally upset with both if and when they have a stinker. Folk on here still went bat-**** crazy at Brissett. It doesn't matter if it's a number one pick or a UDFA, most fans just want to see their team win and pity the fool who cocked it up for them.
I'm not saying I wasn't pissed thar brissett sucked but to see our top 5 QB stink it up when we could have gotten better players at #5 REALLY pisses me off
