I got cute last week and tried to pick upsets like a dummy. Back to basics this week. Saturday Bengals @ Titans 49ers @ Packers Sunday Rams @ Buccaneers Bills @ Chiefs
Saturday Titans Packers Sunday Rams Bills Note- Jimmy G has a torn ligament in his thumb and temps are going to be 1 degree in Lambo. I initially picked the 49ers but that swayed me to switch to Green Bay.
Saturday Bengals-Bengals Offense is better than Titans D, and a heart pick Packers-Anywhere but Lambeau in January I pick the 49ers here Sunday Rams- Buccaneers are dramatized, it's really hard to repeat, and eff Marcia, go home ***** Bills-they are peaking when it counts, playing their best ball the last 4 games. And I'm about sick of State Farm Commercials already.
Saturday Titans Packers Sunday Bucs Chiefs Really not sure about those last two. In fact, I could see the Titans lose too....
All but 3 of us are “oof” after that first game. How in God’s name does a team record 9 sacks on a quarterback and still lose? Those 2 tipped passes for interceptions really killed Tennessee’s drives, especially on the Titans second to last possession. Congratulations to the Bengals. Talk about a Cinderella sleeper
Yeah, the tipped passes decided it. Along with the Bengals being totally ready for RT17 to throw the ball there on the first play of the game.
That was such a strange game. Burrow sacked 9 times. Tannehill throwing costly picks. Tenn getting a pick that was on the ground as it was caught. So many ups and downs- the better QB won, but the better team lost. Such a strange game.
There aren't many NFC teams that I root for Green Bay over. Usually Dallas, then its case by case if I hate the players or coach. The Packers have just had too much success and get too much exposure.
I can’t be mad at the Packers. The people of Green Bay own the team, not some self serving billionaire who comes to town only for games then goes back to Manhattan. May be getting off topic but think about it a second. What if the Dolphins were a non profit team owned by the city of Miami, in which the citizens of Miami voted for the team’s board members and if those board members didn’t produce a winning team, the PEOPLE could vote them out? Except for about a 20 year hiatus during the 70s and 80s (that I know of), the Packers have been a RELEVANT team dating back to 1919. To me, that says a lot about the concept of community owned teams.
I wish that there were no owners, and every team was a franchise location of the NFL like retail stores are for someone like Best Buy or Target. But sadly, that's not the reality that we live in.
Well, I'm 1-1. Not shocked, but not the way that I expected it to turn out, lol. And my Super Bowl pick is trashed, since I chose TEN over GB.
Under the new format BOTH #1 seeds are out. Something to be said about playing when hot? Interesting first result to the experiment for sure
And I gotta go with my gut everytime. I knew in my heart 49ers were going to win, but brains couldn't accept it.
To change my picks or not to change my picks.... I want to but that always leads to failure and saying I wished I had stayed with my first choice. My previous picks were total failures. Playoff Brady, experienced, Bucs team... they should just have the edge. I'll stay the course, but this is going to be a hungry Rams team isn't it. Maybe I can get a perfect failure of a score if the Bills win too... So sad. Anyone else wants to join me on the Titanic, there's lot of room.
I wanted both the Bengals and the Packers to win yesterday. Cincinnati just because, and the Pack because I still haven’t forgotten Super Bowl XI . Tonight, I want the Rams and the Chiefs to win. LA because the Glazer family owns Man. U, the hated local rivals of my own team, Manchester City, and I hate anything connected to that club. And Kansas City because they’re playing the jills, though I think Buffalo will win. EDIT: I’ve just seen that the Packers lost. I could have sworn that they’d won.
Well, now I officially don't give a crap about the NFC Championship game. We could have had Rodgers vs Brady. Now we have freaking Stafford against Garropolo. Couldn't care less.
Care more about quarterbacks or teams? Because in this case the “better” quarterbacks both lost to better teams.
Man, I am so the opposite! I'm far, far more invested now that neither of them are in the game and we don't have to put up with the overwhelming coverage of them the rest of this season! I can't wait until they're both gone.
I just can't imagine that kind of thinking, honestly. They're two of the best quarterbacks to ever play and I can't see not wanting to watch them play each other.
I want variety. The sports media crams a handful of teams and players down our throats in a non-stop manner. Over and over and over.
It would be good to see the Bengals win, since they've never won a title and haven't been in the SB in over 30 years. If they make it, I'll root for them. If its the Bills or Chiefs, I'll root for whichever of the NFC teams makes it, since they're basically my model franchises for what I want the Dolphins to be.
