    Here's my bold predictions.

Two picks. Jevon with one or with a tip to cause one.

4 sacks. Phillips and Williams and Van Ginkle.

4 passing tds. Waddle, Hill, Gesicki.

2 rushing tds. 1 by Tua.

Going to be more realistic and cautious with my pick. We still have a lot of gelling and fine tuning to do, and playing against a bill bellicheat team is never easy. Jones should be better this year.
That said Im going to go with 2 TD for Tua, 1 Rushing TD, and 2 Field Goals.

    Fins 24-21

Wise. I generally don't like predicting things. I'm not good at it. So if I'm going to do it I may as well go all in!

Normally I would probably agree with you but if you saw the Patriots last preseason game, Mac Jones looked…

-As lost as a b@stard on Father’s Day
-As confused as a baby in a titty bar
-He played uglier than a pair of bowling shoes

New England is following the Dolphins offensive scheme from last year…co-offensive coordinators including Matt Patricia if memory serves me right.

This is going to be an UGLY season for the Pats and it starts in Miami next Sunday.

Oh right, I forgot about his appendix surgery. As far as I know he is expected to play but he might not be 100%. Might need to adjust my expectations!

Doh! I thought it was today! I'm sat here in my Marino HOF shirt, frantically flicking through the channels, wondering why there's just highlights on and wondering where the hell the game is! Whoops! :blushing:

See y'all same time next week, I guess. :laughy:

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...y-to-get-acclimated-to-the-heat-and-humidity/

"For most teams, a road game means leaving on Saturday and returning home on Sunday. For the Patriots, their first game of the season will entail a slightly longer stay.

As noted by Mike Reiss of ESPN.com in his excellent Sunday column focusing on all things Patriots, the team will be heading to South Florida on Tuesday, in order to get properly acclimated to the heat and humidity.
Via Reiss, Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty previously has said that the Miami climate is “always a little bit of a shock in pregame.” Chris Simms has said on PFT Live that, for some players, the excursion to Miami takes on a vacation vibe, which can create a distraction.

That’s the counter to spending five days in Miami. The players, who by rule have gotten a few days off over the Labor Day weekend, could get caught up in the South Beach scene when they have some down time.

If anyone can keep them focused, however, it’s coach Bill Belichick. And the easiest way to do it will be to show them some Tyreek Hill film.

Or maybe Belichick can just remind them that they’ve lost two in a row in Miami, four out of five there, and seven out of nine. Even though the Patriots typically have the better team across the board.

That’s the other problem for the Patriots. This year, for the first time in a long time, the Dolphins look to be the clearly better team."

Until this team proves me wrong, I'm going to predict a 19-17 slugfest of ugliness between two sputtering teams. I think Belicheck may not have the best roster he's ever coached, but the defense is going to be good, and they are going to run the ball against us. Rhamondre Stevenson is going to roll right over us, and Damien Harris is no slouch in his own right. This will not be an easy game at all. I don't see us beating the crap out of them (although that would be awesome). I think this will be a typical dogfight between the two of us. Don't be surprised to see a 7-6 score at halftime with a bunch of us on here calling for Skylar Thompson. It's gonna happen! I think things will pick up in the second half, but this game will be hard to watch because coach B makes it that way. That's why he's one of the best to ever do it. This Pats team is going to compete, they are going to get wins, I think Mac Jones is decent enough to not lose them games, and I think they have an awesome 1-2 punch in the run game. Patriots 19- Dolphins 17. I hope like Hell that I'm wrong!

The whole section the Peacock team did just got worse and worse as it went on.
They start with 'Which team has the best roster 'on paper''? They all agree it's the Dolphins, but by halfway through they're all saying that maybe the difference isn't really all that great. Then they talk about how Miami could be really great if it comes together. One of them goes off on how it comes down to taking Belichick over McDaniel and Mac over Tua. Tua has a long throwing motion that's slow, apparently, and he's not accurate.

The whole thing just feels like the whole in studio team is just paying lip-service to the Dolphins before getting to what they really want to say - the Patriots are better and are going to win. It's cringeworthy at times.

As much as there was a debate over whether or not it was underthrown, I do think that the Tua-Tyreek completion at the start of the last pre-season game meant that the media has had to change the narrative on what the fins are. Up to that point they could carry on doing a lot of "Tua doesn't have the arm to get Hill the ball. They've wasted their money on a wide receiver who is going to be 30 yards away from the landing spot of every pass the quarterback has thrown. Teddy Bridgewater will be starting by week 5" but now that pass has entered the casual football fan's consciousness enough that the media know that they have to play the game of acting like this offense is going to be exactly what we're all hoping it will be. I think most of them think it'll fail still and are probably even trying to over-hype us to such levels that when the offense has a bad game they can come out and absolutely tear this team apart. "Tua only threw for 200 yards last night? With Waddle, Hill, Wilson all on the field? Tua's awful. Get that guy out of Miami. He's the biggest bust to ever exist." Meanwhile the scoreboard will have probably read something 24-10 Dolphins and it's just that the defence balled out to the point Tua didn't need to throw.

I just don't believe in our offense, but I think that the defense and ST get the win to send us to 1-0.

    Miami 19
    New England 10

    2 interceptions
    4+ sacks

4 fgs by Jason Sanders, several set up by excellent field position due to the D.

As long as the top 3 wide receivers don't get hurt I don't see how New England can keep up with them. They can just nickel and dime them to death.

I do not see anyone on the New England offense that scares me. They might get some success running, but I just don't see them passing on Miami too well.

History shows me that I cannot count Bill Belichick out. However, I am excited for this game and I do believe Miami is going to win easily.

I think that the smart move would be to have X shadow DeVante all day long, and make NE beat us somewhere else. Hunter Henry is likely to be their main weapon through the air otherwise.

Not scared of Parker in the least.

Stack the line, shut down Harris/Rhamondre, force Mac to beat you under pressure throwing to some of the worst WRs in the NFL who don't get separation. Make Patricia show you something or do something. Having him be the defacto OC and calling plays seems ... really bad. So don't give him easy choices.

Offensively, try and establish the run, get some quick passes to get Tua into a rhythm and just drive it.

I wouldn't be at all shocked if this is the season that things go off the rails for New England ... but until it's actually happening I can't predict a blowout. Something like 23-13.
