    Phew!

What a great game. What a great comeback.

I thought we were dead and buried at half-time, but what a second half performance on both sides of the ball.

Hopefully, this will give all of them the confidence to go on and have a great season.

According to some on here it was Josh McDaniels. He was totally the one out there throwing the ball to Hill and Waddle.

They obviously threw the ball to themselves. Just remember, the Ravens had no cornerbacks either, even though their top 2 cornerbacks played today.

I was far and away from a TV until 4:00 PM. The last score I saw was 28-7 and then 35-14. Couldn't believe it when I turned on the TV when I got home and saw we'd tied it. What a freaking day to miss the game. But also, what a freaking day!

I might have never issues a take that aged this poorly this quickly.

What can I -we- say? Tua did what he had never do e and frankly didn't look capable of. This was a stunning game, half really.

It's there. The NFL game is there. Why it has never appeared before is a mystery but frankly not as important as figuring out how to keep it and keep at least a good portion of it going every game.

That was the third overall pick with first overall resume. That was why we drafted him and what he had frustratingly failed to show until he was told "it's now or never".

We are going to have bad games, we are going to have errors, ints, misfires. But we also have the 6 TD performance lurking, where we don't need a perfect defensive game to be in it.

To simplify this, we saw Alabama Tua today. That's the guy we drafted to build around and I feel confident that he's "good enough" to win big games with the right team around him.

Or should we talk about his two picks? LOL! It's amazing how nobody brings that up when we score 40+.

I don't think Tua will ever be good enough for some of the experts but when is the last time the team had this happen? All i hear is he didn't throw that TD far enough,he only threw it x amount of yards. Please STFU at least until his next loss.

I think it's becoming clearer with each game that one of our big problems last year was coaching. I have less respect for Flores every day.

Both picks were really bad decisions, throwing against double (in one case arguably triple) coverage trying to thread an impossible needle. In some sense it's really good that these were INTs of the really bad decision making variety because they should be easier to fix. Tua wasn't being rushed on either throw. He simply ignored the sheer difficulty of the situation.

Contrast that with other picks of his in the past where he made a bad decision under pressure not protecting the ball. Some film study should teach Tua not to make these kinds of impossible-type throws. We just need him to be highly efficient with good football IQ. He's rarely shown that previously but today, aside from those 2 INTs, he showed it in abundance.

We do have the Bills next...

After seeing today though, with our defense struggling early. I'm not terrified of the Bills. Don't get me wrong, we should lose next week...but I think Alabama Tua and this offense can stand with them.

After today, no one should think of the Dolphins as more than 3 point underdogs against the Bills. I wouldn't go in thinking it's expected we should lose the next game. Bills are only slight favorites IMO, especially since this is a home game.

You see, this is the kind of thing I don't mind. I was expecting a gunslinger out of college and sometimes gunslingers throw picks because they're too cocky. I'm okay with that if there's consistent improvement. The problem I had with him early on was that he seemed too tentative and afraid to take chances. And I think part of that was coaching.

I always like listening to McDaniel; he doesn’t spout cliché after cliché and you actually get something from what he says. Hopefully, Tua has turned a corner and stops dwelling on past plays, because we saw today what can happen if he does.

Oh wow, I thought it was at Buffalo. Yeah, in that case, I'd say we have a real chance.

That would be awesome for a number of reasons, but the big one would be that we'd lead the division for the vast majority of the year off that one win. It would take two losses for the Pats or Bills to pass us, and our mid-season schedule looks pretty winnable starting in week 5.

On the other hand, in late winter, going to Buffalo is a problem. So we really need to win this one to set up the season.

That's all you can ask for in the situation we're faced with next week. Going into Buffalo is not going to be easy. The Bills are hands down the favorite to win it all this year. I don't think anyone is going to stop them or get in their way. But if we go into their house and go toe to toe with them in a loss, I'll be totally satisfied.

Hopefully, Coach can get the team to compartmentalize each game for what it is: One game in a 17-game season. I really really really want to knock the Jills on their butts, but the team needs to move on from Baltimore to have a good week of practice in order to give the best shot. For as exciting as this game was for fans, it's vitally important that the team builds on it instead of thinking one week's performance carries over to the next. If we win next week, it's another game; likewise, if we lose. We didn't win the Super Bowl this week and we won't win or lose it next week, either.

    But it does feel good.

Fun fact: only in 3 out of the past 22 seasons has the preseason SB favorite (Vegas odds) won the SB. Only happened with the Colts in 2006, Patriots in 2016 and Patriots in 2018.

So historically that's 13.6% probability Bills win it. Of course Bills were +600 SB favorites preseason, which translates to 14.3% probability of winning. So it's actually very likely the Bills won't win it, on the order of 85% likely.

I personally don't want to see them win it either.

Last thing Tua said before he had everyone say "family" is that we have a tough game against the Bills and then a short week against the Bengals.

Yep. The only thing a 2-0 record gives you is the opportunity to go 3-0. I'm pretty sure that's going to be the coach's message all week.

To be fair, we've played like Clown College rejects for the past couple of years against them. To beat them, you have to play an efficient and mistake-free game, because we can count on them doing it. And we've had some of the most embarrassingly unprofessional performances of this decade when facing them. I can handle a loss to them if it feels like we played well. But right now, they're within their rights to consider our contests to be trap games.

I just hope that should we fall to the Bills next week, everyone will take that game for what it is…ONE game.

I didn’t scroll through the thread until after I watched the game (recorded) and my God, all of the negativism and rancor.

Everyone pretty much agrees the Bills are the gold standard of the AFC. Just remember that when we play them but this game certainly showed, we can stand toe to toe with the best of them in a slug fest.

I was away from home for most of the game. When it got to 35-14, I stopped checking my phone. Gash play after gash play after gash play. I watched the final quarter on YouTube but I'm glad I wasn't watching the first three. It's good to get the W, but bad that we put ourselves in that position. I think most of us will come down to Earth in the next couple days and realize this was a very problematic outing.
