Is anyone else aware that Dan Hanzus who writes the NFL.com power rankings is a huge Jets fan and is super bias when it comes to the Dolphins? He always discounts the Dolphins on the power rankings and as soon as the lose he's super quick to drop them very far down(this time after a single lose without our starting QB hurt). I know Dan Marino and the Dolphins emotionally scarred him as a child but he should be able to do his job without bias. I usually don't let people bother me but the fact that this guy works for the league and should be able to write without looking through his gang green colored googles bothers me.

ESPN, CBS and PFF all had the Dolphins at 5.

He is also a third of my favorite NFL podcast around the nfl and he's just as bias there.

I'm not sure I particularly disagree with his ranking? Of course we're going to drop places, we're about to enter a run of games where we're starting our backup quarterback. Surely it would be more worrying if our ranking had improved due to us sticking Teddy in there.

I could argue about the exact ordering of the teams, but I think he has us in roughly the right tier as things stand.

Ravens lose, don’t fall. Rams get smacked around, drop 5. Miami loses on the road, on a short week, without starting qb, to the defending AFC champs, and drop 7. Yeah, ok

exactly. I can see the dolphins dropping 2 or 3 spots sure no problem. Also his jets beat the Steelers and go up 6. The dude is a bias clown.

The good thing about power rankings is they don't mean anything other than an opinion,at least the game is mostly decided on the field. And unfortunately the refs.

There's a lesson here- the power rankings mean absolutely nothing. They never have. It's a popularity contest where any of the top 10, middle 12, or the bottom 10 could be shuffled and still be fairly accurate.

The lesson here is don't pay any attention to the power rankings, LOL.

Power rankings dont mesn anything but we dont know when tua will come back, or if he will come back…

teddy is a backup, he is a guy that we hope he plays average enough to keep us in games… so the rankings will drop. And i dont mind having teddy on the team… hes been a solid backup for the saints and broncos.. but if we need him to start more than two games this season then we are done..

I'd modify the power rankings by switching it to tiers. Most of the time there's not much difference between the teams in say 3rd to the team in 7th. Just group the teams and make it easier for everyone.

Hell I could publish an NFL power rankings based on nothing but a team’s record and it wouldn’t be much different than what’s been posted by these clowns.

Miami may have taken a blow offensively with Tua out, but let’s see how some of these unchallenged teams match up against our defense.

Miami would still be a top 10 team even without Tua

With the questions surrounding Tua and that injury, you think it's crazy they dropped 7 spots?

I'm not sure I agree with that.

You're arguing that Tua essentially brings nothing to the table?

My point was not that Miami dropped 7, it’s that they dropped further than the Rams who were manhandled and the Ravens, who lost and didn’t drop at all. Destroyer’s original point was that the author of this article is a Jets fan, and his inconsistencies in team movement in the rankings would appear to support that.

PS. I look at power rankings as a snapshot, so an injury would not affect the rankings. A loss to the Jets would drop the Fins, regardless of the qb.

You said they're a top 10 team without Tua. So you're arguing that the team isn't gonna skip a beat without Tua?

You're absolute contempt of this team is disheartening. Even at 3-0. Barely losing the 4th game. But maybe that's what you're going for. It seems as such. It's too bad. You used to be a good poster. Now you're just kinda bitter. It's not a good look. IMO.

This is all I'm trying to say. I don't let the power rankings really bother me too much but this guy being so openly bias on the NFL's own site doesn't sit right.

Huh? None of that post was anything to do with my feelings on the team. That being said, I don't see a top 10 team, do you? The defense is far too inconsistent, the oline has issues, and now we have Bridgewater?

I'm sorry you feel I've become bitter. I will tell you, the past 15 years or so have really worn on me, to the point that I don't really care when they lose, because they have lost so much. So, I had concerns when they drafted Tua, and those first two years were really depressing for me as a fan, especially after coming off the years of my defending Tannehill, only to realize that we again seemed to have drafted a flawed QB way too high. I was PSYCHED this season that we were 3-0, and Tua had finally started to win me over, then the Thursday night. It's been a rough few years as a Dolphin fan, man.

Losing your starting quarterback can cause a team who, depending on which ratings you look at to slip from 3 to 10.

We would still be a top 10 team. And despite your contempt for the defense, which can be frustrating giving up the yardage that they do, has still held the highest scoring offenses in check, with the exception of the Baltimore game.

You like to use emotionally charged words, like "contempt." I do not have "contempt" for the defense. I said they need to be more consistent.

Using stats from the first 3 weeks of the season is a little weak, wouldn't you agree?

Sure. But it's the first 3 weeks of the season. Offenses and defenses are just getting going. The leader after three weeks almost certainly will change by the end of the season.

There are like 10-12 franchises in the nfl that are automatically WRONG in many situations on or off field in the football. We are one of them. Every one takes a free shot. Dont sweat it. Winning will change vibes. Especially if ross becomes absentee

Looks like we are the same old Dolphins. Defence can't tackle and give up big plays at the most inopportune time and the OL is constructed of turnstiles. Paper thin depth that is really hurting us.

    Tyreek Hill

Hill leads the NFL in receiving yards, receptions and targets. He is on pace for 2,088 yards this season, which would be not only a new NFL record but the first time any wide receiver has cracked the 2,000 receiving yards mark. His impact on the field is palpable, and his teammates rave about his leadership in the locker room. Nothing we've seen through nine weeks suggests that the fastest player in the NFL is slowing down anytime soon. -- Marcel Louis-Jacques

He may not have moved us but at least he's noticing things.

"Had Tua not missed time, this offense would likely be on a historic pace."

    That's a pretty big statement.
