Parker hurt and not producing - Go figure

The Patriots beat the Jets on Sunday without receiver DeVante Parker, who exited the contest after playing just one offensive snap with a knee injury. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Parker suffered a knee sprain and may not miss the Week Nine matchup against the Colts. New England has a Week 10 bye, so if Parker is sidelined, it’ll likely be for only one game. If Parker is out for two weeks, he would return when the Patriots host the Jets in Week 11.

In his first season with the Patriots, Parker has played a lot, but has not made all that many catches. He has 15 receptions for 321 yards with one touchdown – averaging 21.4 yards per catch. That’s well above the 14.0-yard average he had in seven seasons with Miami.

It’s looking like Case Keenum will be behind center when the Bills take on the Vikings this weekend.

According to multiple reporters on the scene, Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen was not on the field for the portion of practice open to media on Friday. That means Allen has missed all three sessions this week with his elbow injury.

Earlier on Friday, head coach Sean McDermott said in a radio interview that the Bills are taking it “one hour at a time” with Allen and his elbow. The full injury report with Allen’s game status will be released later on Friday, but it’s hard to imagine he’ll be listed as anything other than “doubtful” or “out.”

Keenum has made two appearances for the Bills in mop-up duty this season, completing 2-of-7 passes. He started a pair of games for Cleveland last year, going 2-0. In seven appearances, Keenum completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 462 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

Keenum does already have built-in chemistry with receiver Stefon Diggs from their shared time with the Vikings. Keenum piloted the club to an 11-3 record as a starter in 2017 and produced the “Minneapolis Miracle” to defeat the Saints in the postseason.

Can’t believe how lucky the Vikings have been. They get to okay the Dolphins and the Bills with the backup, not the top 3 QB

Not to mention having their only competition for the division title go off the rails this year, giving them a 5 game lead halfway through the season.

Vikings had the Bills and let em off the hook. Pathetic showing.

Edit: Ok yeah, the Vikings ARE the luckiest team wtaf.

Double Edit: Did Minnesota forget to play defense? Like my guys, you need to actually cover people.

Jesus that was wild. Big win for Vikes, good for us.

They had him returning kicks against Minnesota.

Buffalo doesn’t seem to trust anybody running the ball other than Allen, which is not a recipe for success.

Glad the Jets lost. Had no desire to see them in first place in the AFC East.

They're currently the 7 seed in the AFC now, and could be the 9 after tonight.

They're also the only winning AFC team with 4 conference losses, and have a tough schedule coming up. They're close to cooked.

Mike White to start for Jets this week, with Flacco as the backup. Zach Wilson will be inactive vs da Bears.

The plan is to give him time to “reset”.

"After everything had gone wrong at the quarterback spot, Jets head coach Robert Saleh had his George Costanza moment. The team needed to 'do the opposite' at the game's most vital position. So Saleh named Mike White his Week 12 starter, and the 'do the opposite' decision worked, just like it did for George inside Monk's Cafe on Seinfeld that one fateful day in the 1990s," Trapasso wrote.

"... A well-managed game from their starting quarterback was all the Jets have been asking for of late, and White did that drastically better than the former No. 2 overall pick he replaced (Zach Wilson). This was the modern-day version of Costanza deviating from his normal tuna on toast order before approaching a woman at the bar and being honest about his employment and living situations being played out during an NFL game inside MetLife Stadium."

Bills edge rusher Von Miller said this week that he was hopeful about returning from his knee injury in time to play the Jets in Week 14, but that’s not going to happen. The Bills announced on Thursday that Miller has been placed on injured reserve. He will miss at least four games as a result of the move, so he will be eligible to play again in Week 17. That Week 17 game is against the Bengals, but Miller will be missing a Week 15 date with the Dolphins in addition to divisional games against the Patriots and Jets the next two weeks.

Miller suffered a lateral meniscus injury during the Bills’ Thanksgiving win over the Lions. He is expected to need surgery at some point, but the team hopes to have him back before the season is over. “We just think in talking to the medical people that the best decision right now is to give this time, and that gives him the best opportunity to help us down the stretch,” General Manager Brandon Beane said in a pool report.

Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa are expected to play Thursday night after missing Thanksgiving with ankle injuries. They will join Boogie Basham and Shaq Lawson as the options off the edge with Miller out of the picture.

Well, the Pats lost to the Bills so we need to come away with a W to maintain first place in the division. I think we can do it.

I don't think the Bills were very impressive and Allen is going to get hit the wrong way soon. He's so reckless.

I stopped watching when it was 17-7 and like you, I wasn’t all that impressed either.

I think the staunchest of those two opponents when we face them again will be the weather

Mac Jones was Mad Jones last night.
Dude was rattled and looked awful.
Then losses is it on the coaching staff?

I just hope he is still the starter when we face them again.

When Von Miller suffered a knee injury on Thanksgiving, his initial diagnosis was that his ACL was intact and he would be able to return at some point in the 2022 season. Miller even said that he was targeting the Week 14 matchup against the Jets to get back on the field. But then the Bills placed Miller on injured reserve. And now Miller is out for the season.

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott announced in his Wednesday press conference that after undergoing an exploratory surgery, Miller was diagnosed with an ACL tear and is out for the season.

“Very unfortunate situation for Von, obviously, and our team,” McDermott said. “We care for him, obviously, like we would any player. We know how much this means to him in terms of playing and being with the team. So, we look forward to getting him back — obviously off the field — for the rest of this season. And his leadership. And we’re certainly thinking about him as he recovers here.”

McDermott noted that Miller did have his ACL repaired during the surgery, which was performed in Texas. McDermott did not offer many other details, citing his respect for Miller’s privacy. In his first season with the Bills, Miller still leads the club with 8.0 sacks. He also had 10 tackles for loss and 12 QB hits.

He's reportedly discussing his situation with them. Meanwhile, if you snooze, you lose, Jests. How amazing is it that Aaron Rodgers became just as colossal an a-hole as his predecessor? Packers fans have to be feeling deja vu right now.
