Do we need to replace the training staff also?

I read today that the Bills finished the season with 17 players on the IR. We finished with 15!! Does that mean that we should look at replacing the training staff or was it do to Cams coaching style? Thoughts?

Hard - if not impossible - to answer from the outside. Sometimes it's just bad luck and there's nothing you can do about it. You would have to closely analyse the medical sheets and review the conditioning program, but even if you find problems there, it could still be good old fashioned bad luck. If you keep having these problems year after year, then you should get worried about your conditioning staff, but with just one season, there's way too many possible explanations.

As a side note, don't forget that several IR players (Brown, Bell, Toledo) have a history of being injury prone while others (Green, Zach) are way past their prime age wise. Essentially, Cameron took some gambles (Green, Ricky, playing Zach in spite of his many headaches) and lost them.

No amount training is going prevent torn ACL's, Achilles Tendons, Pectorals and concussion. And remember, a couple of the players were placed on IR to either stash for the year or to make room for a player upgraded from the practice squad or signed from another place.

I have to disagree with you about Brown. Brown isn't injury prone. His first year, he was only kept out with an injury so the 'Phins could flaunt Ricky Williams (before he got busted weed again). His second year, I doubt anyone can get their hand caught in a facemask and get twisted without walking away with a spiral fracture. This year was a freak accident (caused by an interception).

Dont get me wrong: I'm not one of those "Ronnie is always injured, let's get rid of him like this instant" people who blow things way out of proportion. And I agree with almost everything you said right down to the freak accident. But the point remains that Brown has yet to have a single season without any odd injury sidelining him. I called him injury prone because he was injured in each of his last five seasons. Now, of course we shouldn't read too much into that like some other "fans" do, but I for one wouldn't be surprised to see Ronnie sidelined again for a couple of games next year. It's just the way it's been going for him since college.
