Well according to PS3Fanboy that could be the case as the firmware update 2.5 could be bringing Home 1.0. The article includes a screen shot taken by someone in the Home Beta message boards and the response that gave that information was Home Manager "TedtheDog" which is obviously his screen name. Also the article lists that after this information came to light Sony has once again been inviting people to the beta expanding the number of testers, so it is gaining weight. I hope this is true because as with Life With Playstation just launching this could be a great fall for us PS3 gamers. Although I still can't figure out anything about Life With Playstation and maybe Desides or Get Up and Go can help me here. Home has been delayed so many times it's become an afterthought. I hope it's good. I'm looking forward to LittleBigPlanet and Rock Band 2 a lot more next month than Home.
They've sent out quite a few beta invites, so it's got to be nearly done. I think the problem with Home is that it was announced prematurely; Sony needed to generate good news immediately and demonstrated Home before they should have. Either way, I expect it to be pretty interesting.
Home is basically like the Sims but for the PS3 online community. You have your own apartment and you can invite friends over to play games, watch movies, etc. You can go to their apartments, roam around the virtual world, go to common areas and play pool, etc. You have trophy rooms and can launch your online games there as well. Its an awesome idea but a lot to live up to so we'll see because I'm pumped for it. Also I'm sure I've left a bunch of stuff out of my description.
