I haven't seen an offseason thread. If one exists, please accept my apologies for starting a redundant thread and either delete or merge. Thanks. Had to drop this here first:
Best news for me this off-season https://youtu.be/SE30jyukyGg Trainer’s focus this off-season is going to teach Tua how to safely cut a defense with his legs, which is music to my ears.. Be proactive and determine your destination instead of being blind sided . When you see the Lane open, drop, tuck, run and slide. Spin ball on field, go back to huddle and see how incredible that impact the defense
This would be a huge skill to unlock. Instead of trying to extend plays in the backfield scrambling, which lead to some injuries, take off, run and slide and take the 6, 7, 8 yard chunks. He's had the opportunity to do it but just hasn't taken advantage. Hopefully they hit on something.
Preach. If he can warrant a spy, that does a lot for McDaniel's offense. At the least, it opens up underneath routes and makes tight end more of a weapon than it was last season.
Small disturbance in the water about our possibly acquiring Dalvin Cook. This is from Cook's personal trainer (who also trains Tua):
Cook's talent is undisputed and the Vikings didn't utilize him effectively or overwork him. Could be a key piece if Tua misses games and we're starting White.
I'm just shocked that the rumor still has legs. Sounds like a pipe dream but it seems to be possible. Barry makes it sound possible, but not likely this morning.
With the re-signing of Wilson and Mostert today, plus Ahmed, I would doubt RB is still on the front burner, especially a feature back like Cook. As for Ekeler, is he that different/better than the guys already signed? Henry is in a league of his own, lol
I'm happy we got Mostert and Wilson. I'd love to have Cook, Henry, or Ekeler (had each of them in fantasy over the past few years), but we're in the era of running back by committee and we already have a good lineup. Plus, I'd hate to have traded for Wilson only to lose him after a few games.
After signing back Mostert and Wilson, Media types are still estimating we have somewhere between 15-18 Mill in cap room right now. (And an additional 13M after Byron is cut on June 1st) Poyer is still out there. Sounds like it’s between us and Vegas for him. Could still re sign Needham in the secondary too. Other than them…. I could see us targeting a tight end or an Offensive Lineman. Maybe keep an eye on Geoff Swaim. He is known as a zone run blocker. Good scheme fit and catch the odd ball.
I wonder if the Ramsey restructure was to make space for Cook but they couldn't get it done so fell back to signing both Mostert and Wilson. They must have cleared that cap space for someone.
