Are your 2 games against the Jets next year easier or harder with Rodgers at QB instead of Wilson?

Dude, let's be real about this.

At this very moment, the New York Jets are sending picks for a quarterback that had 0 zero 300 yard games last season was middle of the pack in passer rating. Perhaps, in a vacuum, you can say that the Jets upgraded since they had currently have Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco. But even then, it'll likely won't mean much because the size of the upgrade will likely not be enough to justify what they paid in that trade.

Jets odds of winning the SB just went up from +2500 to +1400. They're in 5th place now behind KC (+650), Buffalo (+850), Cinci (+900) and SF (+900). Dolphins tied for 6th place with 4 others at +2500.

Jets clearly improved with Rodgers, but longer term this is a bad move for the Jets unless they win the SB, which is still VERY unlikely. A +1400 translates to 6.7% of winning the SB, and Rodgers is costing them a ton and won't be around long. Overall happy with this news.

Packers should have squeezed more out of the Jets, or should have refused to include their own first rounder. I think the Jets would have caved, especially with the SF rumors gaining traction.

That's a pretty crazy take, but maybe you didn't get to watch Wilson as much as I have. I don't think any neutral fan would agree with you.

Do you think the Jets defense is as good as advertised? Do you think Saleh is a competent head coach? Is Rodgers good enough to carry a coaching staff anymore?

Harder obviously, but it was a massive overpay by the jets for a potential one year rental

Jets defense is good, not great.

I have no issues with Saleh.

I think Rodgers will have a great season. He's going to be super motivated. I also think he plays for more than a year as well.

He's going to play for more than a year. I feel extremely confident about that. As far as the compensation, it was basically a 2 this year and a 1 next year. Hopefully the 1 next year will be a late first. Lastly, we need to see what the reworked contract looks like.

How many more years does Hill have left before he retires? He may go out with Rodgers, lol.

If you want to actually be real, then you'll need to use a larger sample than one season where he fought through a broken thumb and lost all his receivers. That doesn't define him.

Rodgers is a MASSIVE improvement, and the Jets will be much better as a result.

Being better than Wilson is not exactly a high bar.

Even before is broken thumb, he never passed for 300 yards. And during that five game stretch, while Green Bay went 3-2, those three wins were against the Bears, Bucs, and Patriots.

Allow me to play Devils Advocate…

Are Rodgers next two games against the Dolphins easier or harder with Fangio as DC and throwing against Howard and Ramsey?

Im more confident in our defense than I am Rodgers…especially when he already had one foot out the retirement door.

He started off bad in 2021 too. Again, you seem to think such a small sample defines a player. At least a lot of you are consistent.

Harder but it would be even worse if Wilson was the QB.

The mental minutia here is pretty entertaining.

Should be a fun season. Let's hope everyone stays healthy.

Rogers has become an absolute headcase. Better than Zach Wilson, sure, but pretty much anyone other than Nathan Peterman is probably better than Zach Wilson. He's more interested in smoking psychedelics with his hippy girlfriend than in playing football - he just wants attention and most definitely DID NOT want to share his retirement with Brady.

The best shot the Jests have is if Rogers was intentionally tanking for Green Bay last year and has a great FU season. But frankly I think he is spent. The New York media will eat him alive and if they start slow it will not be pretty. IMO this is far more likely to be Russell Wilson than Matt Stafford.

The smart move would have been Lamar. But they let Rogers do his Rogers thing to them without even playing a down lol. And Green Bay took full advantage to get everything they could. Great deal for them.

In 2021, within the first five games, he threw for 2 more touchdowns, 84 more yards, and the Packers were 4-1. The only thing Rogers did in 2022's first five games better than he did in 2021's first five games is post a higher completion percentage.

Laughable. Typical media garbage. Flat out, he had a much better shot to win a SB in Green Bay. The path to both division and conference titles are MUCH easier there. He'd rather spend his offseasons getting effed up on drugs than work with teammates or improve.

You would think that Rodgers has been to 7 Super Bowls the way it's assumed the Jets have a shot at the Super Bowl now.

Yea, there is a lot on banter concerning Rodgers. I don’t get it. We all know our defense was our Achilles heel last season and with the upgrades we made so far, I worry less about opposing offenses than I did last season, including Rodgers to the Jets.

Rodgers has been to one Super Bowl in 15 seasons as a starter. Now he's going to take a 7-11 Jets team to their first Super Bowl in 50+ years in a loaded AFC.

    Call me skeptical.

Not worried about Rodgers without a competent offensive line or running game. Right now they lack both and Rodgers is an old 40. Just hope he plays 65% of the offensive snaps so the Jets lose another first rounder in 2024.

The real losers in this are the Patriots. Suddenly in a division of Josh Allen, Tua, and Rodgers, the Patsies are going to march out who? Mac Jones? Some other retread? Barring injury and huge leap in play by Jones, hard to imagine any path the Patriots get to the playoffs this coming season.

Watched Rogers play a lot last year. He looked good. Had a lot of drops by his WR's. He still avoided pressure and moved in the pocket well.

It's ironic that the Jets and the Dolphins rushed for the exact same amount of yards per game last season. As far as an "old 40" he's 39 and seems to be in great shape. He's never had a real history of injuries but he did play with a broken thumb last season. That couldn't have been easy.

Just curious, what makes you say "Zappe is real"? I know he had 1, maybe 2 ok games right? Or was it more than that. Admittedly, I didn't pay too much attention to Patriots games that weren't against Miami. All indications are Zappe isn't even being considered over Jones. Either way, if it's one of those 2, either will clearly be the worst starting quarterback in the division - barring injury, a tremendous improvement, or tremendous degradation of performance. Lucky for Miami - I think Rodgers has the biggest chance of degradation, given age, attitude, etc.
