I think all the major tackles and tight ends will be gone by then along with the top two running backs so I guess I'm ending up at Bergeron?

Could be, that’s the conundrum of this 51 position

This draft is weird enough that I think I've somehow got about 100 possible players being off the board by the time we draft. I miss the years of us having multiple first round picks where you could start getting wild with anticipation for this week.

Take this for what it’s worth, but Peter King is reporting that “Mike McDaniel would love to trade up into the first round for Jahmyr Gibbs”.

Really don’t think Grier is moving UP for a RB, but people will report just about anything leading up to the draft, and a small percentage actually happens.

Lots of steam on Devon Achane to the Dolphins.

Fastest running back in the draft (4.32) and known for breakaway big plays. But he is tiny at 5’8” and 185Lb.

I keep hearing his and Tyjae Spears’ names linked to Miami, usually in the third round.

With the talk that Darnell Wright could drop due to character concerns after his interviews with teams, would you still take the risk?

We don’t have the access to make that decision.

Maybe he’s just misunderstand and MCD can get thru idk

I don’t think he drops far enough; we might have a better shot at his teammate, Torrance. Probably have to move up for either, realistically.

I actually opened this thread to post Duwand Jones. I think he'll be gone by #51, but it's possible he drops. If he does and we don't select him, we're doing it wrong.

Nobody says what they really mean this time of year. I think if one of the better OL drop yo 51, we may very well take them, despite Grier.

I actually don't think RB is out at 51, I wouldn't be surprised if we take someone that could fill the role they had assigned to Chase "Stone Hands" Edmonds. Mostert and Wilson are decent runners but both aren't great at catching passes out the backfield and with all the space we had underneath last season it would add another wrinkle to the offence to have a shifty pass catching RB.

What character concerns are you hearing? I saw that teams were disappointed in him at the senior bowl and with his weight, but not much about him personally.

I feel like every year we hype up RB's and then watch us not draft any. I don't really see a reason for that to change, especially if Gibbs joins Bijan in not being available. Second round is a bit rich for anyone else imo, even disregarding that it's clearly not a priority to this point.

Different coach, different offense. If the one is there at 51 I could see him being taken.

Duwand Jones is still on the board and fills a need. Not sure if he's athletic enough to zone block.

Apparently he's off a bunch of teams draft boards because of his behaviour.

Isaiah Wilson's busting has clearly got teams wary of a repeat performance.

Devon Achane, I like the pick. Blistering speed but runs hard. Sounds kind of like Wilson and Mostert rolled into one. Not a big guy, but not afraid to make contact and run between the tackles.

Decent draft for Grier with the limited resources. I think we got two guys who will play a good amount of snaps and be effective. I know the pickings for good OT is slim, but man I don't feel good with having both Eichenberg and Jackson pencilled in as starters. If the season unravels, that's probably the biggest reason. Hopefully either we have a plan, or they take a step.

Lets shut the team down and just get Waddle, Hill, Mostert and Achane to run 4 x 100m races.

I'm quite sure we'll find somebody of starter quality in the summer after cuts begin. We may find somebody in the days following the draft. There will be available players who are at least as competent as Jackson and Eichenberg.

I am so sick of this BS!!
    I hate it!!
I wish I could be locked in a room with Chris Grier and a polo mallet!!!!!

I like the Devon Achane pick. It's a risk, sometimes you have to take one. He's either going to be John Avery all over again for us or he could be Warrick Dunn/Marshall Faulk. With the fragility of both Mostert and Wilson already on full display, it's not out of the question that Achane ends up the starter. He's fast, patient, can catch the ball out of the backfield. He's a steal in the third round.

I like the two picks so far, and i think they both contribute immediately. There wasnt a tight end better than Achane where we picked.. any linemen available at that pick would need a lot of development before they csn take on the physicality of the NFL.

achane can start week 1.. our running back position has been so inconsistent and average.. one day we rush for a lot.. the next week we barely have 70 total yards rushing..

I'm happy with both picks so far. Offense just got even faster and we have some much needed depth at CB.

I haven't watched a minute of it, so I really can't say whether I liked it or not. I'm just paying attention to who we pick because that's really all that matters to me. What have you hated about it so far? Was is the speeches? Has it been too dramatic? Do the players not seem grateful? Bad lighting? Too many commercials? I remember a few years back they kept a song on repeat for the entire draft and it literally drove me mad. "!!!!SITTING IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!!!" over and over and over again. Fck man! That was awful!

At first I was shocked but after doing research on the players we picked, I‘m intrigued. OL and a TE would have been nice but it seems they didn’t like the players who were still available or were higher on the once we picked. The question other poster asked you remains, who would you have picked or who would have made you less furious??

Better to be picking based on value than need. When Cam Fleming is signed to play RT all will be well.
