We got help for the OL. If he can stay healthy, he can take over RT from Jackson. Wynn is signing a one-year contract with the Dolphins, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The 27-year-old Wynn was a first-round pick of the Patriots in 2018 and has been a free agent since March after playing out his rookie contract. Although he’s a talented offensive lineman, Wynn has struggled to stay healthy. He missed his entire rookie season after tearing an Achilles tendon in the preseason, and has missed significant playing time in all but one of his five NFL seasons. Last year Wynn played in nine games, starting seven. This year the Dolphins will hope Wynn can compete for a starting job on their offensive line. And they’ll hope he can stay healthy. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/14/dolphins-sign-isaiah-wynn/amp/
He has strong incentive to play well and stay healthy. Let's hope he manages to do both. I can't call this a low risk/high reward signing, but it's definitely low risk/mid-reward. At least we aren't standing pat, although I thought we were going to wait for June 1 cuts before supplementing the OL.
Holy crap what’s the fascination . With this team signing broken players. It’s like Grier it trying to get something g cheap and hopes they work out so he looks smart! he will miss games and we will have a constantly shifting OLINE once again. I hate this guy more and more
Even if he misses 16 that still means we got 1 game without Jackson as our RT, which makes it an upgrade.
I don't think he's the Jackson replacement. I think he's the Eichenberg replacement. He had his worst season playing RT for the Pats so keep him on the left side playing at LG and if/when Armstead goes down then you just kick him out to tackle where he was played his best football so far in the NFL.
I hope Butch Berry has grown in his coaching skills because he doesn’t have the greatest resume as an offensive line coach.
