I have been listening to Dylan for a few years now, but I suppose you could say I have only really 'heard' him recently. Lately, I have really started to find myself buried in his poetry, in his charring-melody, and I am quite amazed. Anyway, I figured this would make an interesting topic, because his music comes from so many different places and likely there will be quite a few different, equally relevant, responses. So please, let us know what your favourite Dylan song is....why....when...how....etc....let it go I'll have to start by going with 'Simple Twist of Fate' and 'Visions of Johanna', if I'm limiting it to a painstaking two. Go!
Hmmmmmm good topic. I suppose if I had to choose just one, Mr. Tamborine Man would probably win out. But I reserve the right to change my mind multiple times within this thread... Oh wait! Maybe Lay, Lady, Lay...or The Man in Me. I think the Man in Me gets the nod for being featured in The Big Lebowski.
1. Tight Connection to My Heart. Brownsville Girl, Jokerman, Changing of the Guards, 95' Unplugged version of Knockin on Heaven's Door. All very awesome songs you may not have bothered giving a chance...my top 5 off the top of my head. My favorites anyway.
Both are awesome. I'm a little more into his newer stuff. "Series of Dreams" is another I like a lot. and by newer, i mean last 20 years.
This will always be my co-favorite. tangled up in blue is my favorite. His albums 'Oh Mercy' and 'Time Out of Mind' are my favorite albums. His book 'Chronicles' is a great, great read, I highly recommend it.
