Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has made some pointed comments at training camp about needing to hold wide receiver Tyreek Hill accountable, and Hill says he accepts those comments. Hill said today that he’s trying to hold himself accountable as well and appreciates Tagovailoa’s leadership. “I think Tua’s comments were needed,” Hill said. “He’s obviously the leader of our team so he sets the standard, so I’m just trying to be the best teammate, best version of myself I can be. Showing up to meetings, coming out here every day and busting my tail in practice, I think it’s important. If you want to be able to leave a legacy, you’ve got to be able to consistently do those things.” Hill said he knows he needs to be a good presence in the locker room and on the practice field, and not just a playmaker on game days. “I think it’s very important because football is a team sport,” Hill said. “It is important.” Getting Tagovailoa and Hill on the same page will go a long way toward getting things moving in the right direction for the Dolphins this season.
Dolphins’ Austin Jackson reportedly out weeks with lower-extremity injury https://amp.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article311562576.html
Tua with his first int of camp practice number #9 goes to Minkah for the pic six 100 yard return, awesome those two should make each other better Hilton with a tfl safety.. Dee Eskridge is fine and practicing which is great because he’s making the team Austin Jackson got stepped on and it sounds great that he’ll be back for week one ingold with a concussion look for Rucci to take his reps which I’m kind of excited for I think that dude could play that position and he’s got better hands than Ingold
Quinn ewers man. it was a no brainer to draft him relative to his skillset relative to our scheme, hell they ran the same scheme at Texas and admittedly stole our offense it’s a real nice happening going in with this talented qb.
Great practice today from all accounts Jack jones Willie gay, Ethan Bonner Jordyn brooks getting praise
Dolphins-Bears joint practice: Tua throws 3 INTs, https://www.sun-sentinel.com/2025/08/08/dolphins-bears-joint-practice-live-updates/ - Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions and running back Alexander Mattison fumbled multiple times. - Bears receivers whipped Dolphins cornerbacks in 1-on-1s as there wasn’t an incompletion until the sixth pass. Most of the incompletions were flagged for either defensive pass interference or holding. The few pass breakups were from Mike Hilton, Ethan Bonner and Cornell Armstrong. - Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was intercepted by Bears safety Jaquan Brisker, later by fellow safety Kevin Byard and finally by LB Tremaine Edmunds in a red-zone drill. Tagovailoa was also sacked on back-to-back plays after a Bears tackle for loss early in 11-on-11 work. - QB Zach Wilson finished his red-zone drive with a touchdown to WR Andrew Armstrong. He also had a mishandled handoff between him and RB Alexander Mattison. - CB Jack Jones got his feet tangled up with a wide receiver on a pass to the goal line. He went down and needed help to get off the field after trying to stand up. Jones was carted off but seen smiling, an indication he may have avoided the worst. He later tweeted it was just a cramp. - Dolphins left tackle Patrick Paul got knocked down on a 1-on-1 rep against Chicago’s Dayo Odenigbo after his stellar instrasquad work against Dolphins pass rushers in 1-on-1. Rookie guard Jonah Savaiinaea was up and down. Odenigbho later had a red-zone sack on the Dolphins. — G Jonah Savaiinaea left the joint session early. - OLB Grayson Murphy continues to excel on the pass rush. He let out some loud expletives as he got home to Caleb Williams at one point. Stock up - Cameron Goode’s punt block is the type of play that earns players roster spots as special teams determines those final spots. He also is very sound at outside linebacker, but he’s not the pass rusher Grayson Murphy is. Tyrel Dodson also had a strong day.
Let’s hope McDaniel has his team ready for the physicality I trust brooks Minkah sieler Chubb and JP they must bring it
If the pundits are doing a study of psychological team dynamics, where is the other side of the coin? You see this is why I’m optimistic this year, I saw the worst of this team in 11 practices last year, now this year is all new dynamics from a leadership standpoint. I will say this again. Jevon holland and Jordan Poyer were done. Holland gave up big time, something that was in the works for a year, and he really wasn’t communicating with the team, just holding Poyers pocket like he was someone’s ***** in jail, true story, double cancers Ramsey is a ****ing douchebag who doesn’t care about anyone else but himself. I mean the guy lied to the organization to get more money, he was done and you can’t tell me he wasn’t a cancer. Now, you have the #1 dynamic change on the team, I believe Jordyn Brooks is a Ray Lewis type now, last year he didn’t feel he could come in early and lead, and this year he absolutely is and man is he leading. Last year we didn’t have the leadership and character of JP and Chubb on the field. Sieler with Brooks are thee leaders of the team. Tua. Well I know he def feels like he needs to do more, and he right, because he’s been a poor leader imo the past few years, by Tua putting his team on blast ( saying to the media “ aren’t you tired of it” and reek on blast he’s ironically stumbled into accountability for himself. So this side of the coin gives me reason to wait it out, with some optimism because of the leadership council in place. Quote Reply
I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but they need to show improvement over the course of the season. That’s what teams with good leadership who are invested in the process do. Miami has fallen off the last quarter of every year with McDaniels, mostly due to a combination of injuries, scheme issues, and a lack of cohesion and toughness. Injuries happen, but guys can prepare better with the right leadership, which also leads to better team cohesion and mental strength. Scheme is what it is, Weaver adapts well but McD gets in his own way often, as we well know, and the players have 0 control over that. We’ll see; I’m neither optimistic nor pessimistic about this season. Mostly just interested to see how it plays out and how the young guys develop. The last two drafts have brought in some much needed high-end talent that have star potential but the system has to be in place for them to reach that level. The moves so far this year are steps in the right direction.
A nice bounce back practice today after a team Meeting this offseason and the reason why I’m started to get more optimistic was many fold, first we got rid of known cancers in holland poyer and Ramsey 2, the new leadership council Sieler, Big time leader Brooks who wasn’t ready last year but now that bad *** is, Chubb who wasn’t on the field, JP, Minkah who doesn’t take bs from anyone, and Tua who by calling some things out must now hold himself accountable and to a higher standard. and last, I talked about a lot about this 10 day road trip and starting the season on the road, I thought it could be exactly what this team needed. we’ll see how it plays out but I have a feeling we’re gonna shut a lot of people mouths up.
It's good they stepped up because they got absolutely dominated on both sides of the ball yesterday. Still didn't really have a particularly great practice, but they were more physical and performed better overall. I still feel like the biggest cancer is on the team though in Hill. I don't think we are so untalented to be a true bottom feeder team, but if we don't get off to a good start I can see things going off the rails.
