As in letting Rob Hunt leave?

It was wild. The stats said Rosen was like the most unsalvageable bust ever and we spent a second rounder to bring him in to cut him. Maybe CBrad has a point in that someone may be desperate enough to trade for Tua ... but I maintain the injuries, contract and overall lack of production make that a fantasy.

Yes. I know the price he got was too high for us, but just wish they could have worked something out rather then sign guys like Ramsey and give them extensions.

This is how I felt. How can you make a determination on his recovery based off a few scripted throws? An MRI isn't going to tell you if he has the same physical ability to do the things he once did. It made whatever was on film irrelevant. The the script used would highlight what he could do but hide what he couldn't. Didn't understand it then, still don't.

And now he's regressed. He was a better QB as a rookie with far less offensive skill players. If he's afraid to be hit, he needs to be benched for good.

Yeah man I get it. I actually really liked Tua and there was the whole Tank for Tua movement. But that hip injury was just so brutal and there was essentially nothing between that and the draft to give us a data point to how he would be. He was an amazing talent, but also an incredible risk.

Herbert didn't have the production and also had some big questions, but just the physical tools and skillset was undeniable. I'm not sure how he would have done under the Flores nightmare and with Grier's crap ability to produce an OL, but he was the safer pick.

I remember that draft and not entirely knowing how to feel after our pick. Happy we got to actually select a QB, but also kind of apprehensive about the injury and how it might affect him long and short term. Sadly, seems the apprehension was the right feeling.

Like you, I like(d) Tua but at the time, our team had (and still has) so many holes that I didn’t want to draft Tua. I didn’t believe any quarterback we drafted be it Tua or Herbert or anyone else would have any true success in Miami due to our anemic and turnstile offensive line. If anyone remembers my analogy, I wanted the “race car” built first before we got the “driver”. Well, we got the driver first and it seems like we’ve been building the race car since with all these gadgets we’ve seen on silly idiotic TikTok videos. How’s that worked out for us?

I know there’s going to be the calls for McDaniel to be fired after the Buffalo game. Maybe it’s warranted, maybe it’s not but after 9 years, 3 experimental head coaches, a complete blow out of a season and fire sale of talent to build THE team, Grier has demonstrated his inability to build a dynasty of a powerhouse football team, let alone one that can even win a playoff game. If anyone is fired first, I want it to be Grier. I don’t want his fingerprints anywhere near any future of the Dolphins.

We can soon add Waller to the list.

    He's this years OBJ frankly.

And watching this Green Bay game, it's astonishing how we feel we can intentionally kneecap ourselves and be successful. It's like we go out of our way to have bad TEs. There are plenty of decent to good early to mid to even later round picks who we point out as being good potential fits that Grier routinely passes on to either trade out or draft some scrub.
