Do you have a preference as to who you face in the second round? The Tigers are the better team on paper, but they've been just completely falling apart for a while now.
We swept the Tiggers at home when they were still playing well so I'd just as soon have them over the red hot Guardians, But i feel pretty good about either match up
Tre Turner had the lowest batting average ever for a NL leader, at .304. A good illustration of how hard it is to watch games these days compared to the past.
I won't say that I'm confident that they will do it, but realizing that the Cubs only need to beat the Padres and Brewers to make it to the NLCS gives me hope. Playoff baseball feels good today. Its also kind of weird that so many of the Cubs postseason series have been against the "new" teams for so long, as they've faced the Marlins (multiple times), Rockies, Diamondbacks and Nationals over the last 25 years. The Pads and Brewers are ancient by comparrison.
Well, I hate the Phillies and the dodgers so go Milwaukee or Chicago in the NL. Prefer Seattle or Toronto in the AL.
NL Central Championship Series coming up. Winner faces the best from the rest of the NL. I don't get to watch though because I don't have cable or the HBO app that TBS is attached to apparently. Its so bogus the hoops you have to jump through to watch playoff games now. It'll be the first Cubs playoff game I've missed since I became a fan in the early 90s.
Not really jumping on a bandwagon....ive always considered them my favorite AL team since Griffey, Edgar, unit etc in the early 90s
Ooof sorry U13...cubbies are getting drilled. Maybe its better you dont watch...save the 3 hours for something productive lol
Definately an ugly day. Rested team vs not. The Cubs are without their top two SP and the rest of the staff has played above their heads all season. Its not shocking there will be days like this. Gotta get one back.
Yep. In a way I kinda want Mil to win because they have a better chance to beat whoever wins that LA/Philly series.
Well, obviously I'm rooting for my own squad. But if its LA/MIL, I'll root for the Brewers. The Phils have some of my favorite players in the league, in Schwarber, Turner and Castelanos. If the Blue Jays and Mariners make the ALCS, then I'd root for either of them over any of the non-Cubs NL teams in the WS.
My football and baseball teams certainly share DNA. Get to the playoffs the the offense just dies, each time.
Mariners need to win one at least in Detroit. Please let’s get it today! Kinda effed up How early game is. 108 first pitch. Recording it to watch after work and hoping no one spoils it. Sucks for both teams fans
Mother Nature agreed with me and said nah, 4 oclock weekday game? Eff Dat, 3 hr rain delay 7pm starts better. Even the weather is in Seattles favor. Don't know if anyones watching but the Ump is cracking me up. He calls a ball just, NOOOO! But it sounds like grumpy old man just NO! And IDK if it's a Fox thing or a playoff thing but I LOVE that they don't have the stupid strike zone box superimposed over the plate. HATE that thing
This... This is why Baseball is Beautiful... https://www.mlb.com/mariners?msockid=28dbad4c5ab866a40d11b83d5b0267ed
Well smell. Guess they just wanted to do it for the home field fans. Really don;t know WTF MLB is thinking with the scheduling. Why on earth are you have 1 pm start times on a weekday playoff game? Really hurts the fans, even if they weren't going to the game anyway, most of us are working at 1 oclock on a Wednesday or a Friday and can't go to or watch live or even listen to on the radio like I did today. Can't be good for TV ratings either. Just stupid business IMO
While Marlins and Pirates fans obviously have been loud about this issue with good reason, the Cubs are such an outlier at the bottom of this list that its shameful. Ownership just pocketing over 250m in revenue.
Mariners are in the driver seat. Can they go up 2-0 and come close it out at home. Hard to do against the Blue Jays. Going to be a great series either way. Really excited we got the Blue Jays. Teams biggest rivals outside division. Maybe even next after the Cheatstros. Still plenty of room on the bandwagon. Jump on everyone
I wish you well and hope you win. Definitely pulling for the AL this season no matter how the LCS end up despite being a lifelong NL guy. Screw the Brew Crew and Dodgers.
