Did anyone else feel like we should have had multiple safeties on the day? Three of them sure felt like intentional grounding in the end zone to me. The spinning, fall-down pass by Mariota in particular should have yielded 2 points. There's no way you can call that an NFL pass.

I agree. As bad as it was, we moved the ball some and won overseas. It usually goes the opposite way so I'm giving them a pass this week.

I was super impressed at the first few runs of the game though; we had bodies flying everywhere as we punched the Commanders in the mouth. That's how you play football and it was so apparent that Miami was taking the game seriously. I miss seeing that in the first quarter.

Yes, the officiating was terrible. Early in the game there was a pass interference call that shifted all momentum in the game towards Washington. It was one of the worst calls in NFL history.

I remember, the NFL rules analyst even joined and said it was a terrible call. It was a rough day for officiating.

The Dolphins won on Sunday when cornerback Jack Jones intercepted Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota on the first play of overtime. Jones knew it was coming.

Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks revealed after the game that Jones went up to the Dolphins’ front seven just before the interception and told them that Mariota wasn’t capable of beating them, so as long as they stopped the run, Jones would take care of the rest.

“His exact words: He said, ‘Y’all stop the run. He’s gonna throw me the ball because he can’t throw,’” Brooks said.

Jones was correct: Mariota attempted a pass to Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, but Jones stepped in front of it and picked it off. The Dolphins were already in field goal range from the point of Jones’ interception, ran a few more plays to get a little closer, and then kicked the game-winner.
