Yeah, we are on the same page. To keep him, he had to get a petty substantial contract and they paid it. I don't fault them for that move at all and it was the right decision.
They know how to construct a team and draft, something we used to be good at a long long time ago, so the QB is not as important as in other places.
I think that had Hurts gone to a lot of other NFL teams, he'd have simply been a bust. Either a backup or out of the league by now. He's very limited. Plus, his body is breaking down the same way L Jackson's is. He won't be in the league much longer.
Burrow was the best from this class and its not even close.Dude has been sacked more than Andrew luck 212 times and still has 154 tds.If only Flores took the tank money and we would be in a totaly different situation. Would of, should of, could of, just like if only drafted drew Brees over Jamar flectcher, and then Brown over Rodgers,Culpepper over Brees again,Long over Ryan, not to mention Lamar jackson who Ross wanted.
I don't know, I have a feeling we would have taken Tua #1 overall. At least that's what Ross said he would have done about a month after the daft. Maybe he just said that to put rumors to rest that we would not have been better off with Burrow. Obviously that's not true. Flores wanted Herbert, and looking back right now, that was probably the correct move as well. I'm not sure we'd be a vastly better team with him, but at least he wouldn't be on the verge of leaving Miami. For Unlucky's comment, Hurts may not have made it in Miami, it's so hard to tell because we would have done everything different to adapt to his playstyle. No Waddle, for example, and likely no Tyreek. Maybe we don't trade Tunsil either and the rabbit hole that move brought. It's hard to project that without seeing it. And finally, for Lamar Jackson, I think maybe we have a Super Bowl ring with him in the Xavien Howard days. Lamar is not what he once was though and probably doesn't have a lot left...he's the same as any ultra mobile QB in that the career is never long. I love those types of QBs but I'd never draft a guy like that for fear of season-ending injury. But that's what we got with Tua so it's hard not to second-guess.
The rumour that came out last week is we tried to move up and offered the Bengals 4 number 1s for Burrow. But yes we should have drafted Herbert over tua that isn't even a debate now.As for Hurts I live in philly area and Hurts would have never made down here in Miami.Eagles have a great organization and know how to draft.Team is loaded.
I don't believe that- there's no way they wouldn't have taken the four picks and drafted Tua or Herbert instead. Who knows though.
The rumor has been around since at least when McDaniel was hired. Its not new. As to how true it is, only the people involved really know. Personally, there's no way I'd have done it. I'd simply have drafted Herbert. And then watch the media hate him the same way that they did Tua because he was a Dolphin and not a Charger.
Hurts is the perfect game manager. HCs of the 80s and 90s would love him. In today's wowowow Goodell NFL it can win you ball games when you control the LOS and don't turn it over.
Think about this.Would u have given up TuaJackson,Noah and Waddle for Burrow? I sure would have. That was next 4 number 1s we had. Of course easy to say now.
Technically it is 3 number 1s.The Number 5 pick for Tua counts also. And yes like striking said I heard this before.
No. Because while I think Burrow is better than Tua, and always have, ill never give up that much for an above average qb. It needs to be a once a decade prospect like Peyton Manning for that.
