My mom's accounting firm did business with Mervyns. I guess I should be anticipating those nice out of business sales some time soon.

It's a shame, because that means we will be losing that many more jobs here in the state.

I know. When a discount clothing retailer goes under, that just tells you how bad the economy is.

    Not good at all:no:
Mervyn's has been a steady, decent revenue producing, mediocre profit provider for my workplace for many years.

Stores like Kohl's, Wal-Mart and others just killed it, along with the economy. I used to shop at Mervyn's all the time. Sad.

Ive never heard of your fancy California clothing store, this "Mervyn's" you speak of, but you're dead on about Wal-Mart. Theres no such thing as "the little guy" in retail anymore. Sad is an understatement.

I refuse to shop at Wal Mart I would rather pay more money somewhere else than support that evil behemoth.

They are slowly eating away at our economy and destroying small businesses across the country and sending our money overseas.

Did you buy that cookie you offered at Wal Mart?

WalMart's labor practices and strong arming communities and small businesses is enough to make you want to punch that smiley square in that face........

My aunt worked for them for over 10 years and they have been treating her any many more of the employees like **** recently. No more schedule preference based on the length of your employment there. Cutting hours so you don't qualify for benefits....she also told me they inject red dye in their meats to keep them looking fresh, water to increase the weight of the meat etc etc.

    :pity:

i was talking about cutting hours=cutting benefits.

i dont know what they do with their meat.

as far as walmarts meat, i know they put carbon monoxide(poisonous gas) in their packaging to make it redder.

Ahhhh, gotcha, unfortunately this practice seems to be growing throughout corporate America. The CO2 sounds delicious.
