I was on the phone with my dad today talking about things, and I thought of this, and I wanted to see what your thoughts were. In the past employers used to be loyal to employees, and I found out that is not true any longer. So I decided to see what the families thoughts are in this poll. This is multiple choice.
For me friends and websites go to together as Brother Mal (Celtkin) saw in me at the other site, made me a mod at DP, then I became one at the other site, DP turned into Celtkin, and then he through me in a box to come over here.
I gave up being loyal to the place I work when THEY decided it was ONLY about the bottom line. They dont care about ANYONE. Been there 26+ years. I would do most anything for my pets, family (married 30 years, never cheated), and the FEW people that are truly my FRIENDS. This is a sore spot with me these days, friends are not the same as yesteryear either. Completely different meaning today. I will stick with my TEAM, the DOLPHINS, through thick and thin. I dont have much choice.........I cant afford to replace my ENTIRE wardrobe.
I hear you bro. My friend that I consider my best friend would stop what he is doing if he could to come and help me if I needed it. Very good people. I have a huge family here that have been very concerned about me not having a job, and have offered a lot of support and help. I am very thankful for you all.
I guess I could have connected websites to friends, although I tend to go where the posters I like go. ie from the OTHER site ........to here. I dont visit other finsfans sites. ONLY HERE, and the MD website.
Pets, Friends, websites, family, sports teams, Neighbors, Military Brotheren, and as Kenny calls them Barley Pops!
My parents and my wife worked for the same company for 20+ years, and my parents were basically forced into early retirement, which put them in a financial bind, although the company did give them a pretty decent severence pay, but it doesn't cover insurance, or the other benefits they had. When my wife left the company after 21 years, she didn't even get a thank you, no severence pay, nothing, and believe me, this is a billion dollar real estate company out of San Francisco. At one time, they were getting $6000.00+ Christmas bonuses, and in the last 8-10 years, they quit getting those bonus, and were given like $250.00 a piece. Its really a slap in the face, when you work for a company like that, that can afford to give bonuses, and then all of the sudden they knock it way down like that. The guys that worked for me got $1000.00 cash bonuses every couple of months for a job well done and to show my appreciation for their time and hard work. I'm a firm believer in taking care of the hands that take care of you!! But, that doesn't seem to be the case with many employers anymore!!
Bro my crew of 6 that worked for me, I used to give them a little something every year if I could. It wasn't a lot, but I just had to say thank you for there hard work.
Im loyal to beer first and foremost because it never lets me down.... Family first, friends second, pets third, sports teams 4th, beer 5th. Websites I checked off because of this one but I also include that with friends, even if Ive never met any of you in person...id still sit down and have a beer with you which means I consider you all friends. Shoot, we spend enough time here together if we didnt get along none of us would really be left Employer/employee relationships are a joke now. They say anything to appease you and you do the same back knowing in a second you would dump their *** the same way they would dump yours if something better came along. Im a strong believer in loyalty but believing it exists in the business world is like believing there's oceanfront property in kansas. I have some loyalty to some of the co-workers who have helped me but not to all of them. Conversely, I know there are some co-workers who are loyal to me for the help Ive given them but I consider co-worker relationships entirely different then anything else because you cant always say what youre feeling or it can make working together awkward.
Sorry to hear about your parents and your wife being done like that. It is not right. I got one for you. My father in law was the president of this contracting company in San Diego. It was a small company, Owner, President (Father in Law) and a receptionist. My father in law worked his butt off, supervised jobs, bid jobs and made the owner multiple millions of dollars bro. Every year his tight *** boss would buy him a ham. He ended up leaving it at the office. That was real crappy.
Oh, that devious, devious beer. First you start with a couple. Then you need a couple more. And then some. And all of a sudden it's like you gotten married. Your house and your car is gone and you wake up next to a woman called Cindi who's dumb as a door knob and not even half as pretty as last night when that devious, devious beer was at work again. Be careful of beer. Stay away from beer. I'll drink it for you.
You mean that nasty stuff that no self-respecting German would even touch with a pole so that we had to ship it over to you guys? Naaaaah
You guys should build a national monument to that drink... seriously. John, please add Jager to the list and put me down for 1. Thanks.
I think we already did. It depicts a guy lying in the gutter clutching to a brown bottle and it's called "God bless America (And we have no clue why they love this junk so much, but bless them, bless them, bless them)". Seriously though ... every time I go to the US, I'm amazed at how popular this stuff is. It's mindboggingly what an advertising campaign can do for you. Here, Jäger is, and I'm not joking, basically a synonym for being a bum. They are literally the only ones drinking it. Freaking amazing.
John, how's is Jager not listed ahead of Beer...well actually since you made the pole...how is Beer not at the top of the list.
I also think it has to do with the fact we are more creative here in the US. We made cool drinks that included Jager. "The Jager Bomb" is fan-favorite. Also, we drink it ice cold. Maybe you guys do as well, but Ive had it lukewarm and the result was not a positive one. Im sure there are things in Germany you guys love that we dont care for in the US... look at the French and Jerry Lewis for example.
