next three games in philly. opening my mouth and sticking my foot in because I have no idea about baseball... the next three games are at philly. three straight home wins... ? hm bye bye the artist formerly known as "devil rays".
If Rollins and Howard don't get going, I think the Rays may take it. Moyer has to pitch better. His last two playoff starts were terrible. My nerves are shot after watching the Phillies strand 154 guys on base the first two games.
it was exaggeration. 154 in 2 games is only accomplished by the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates of the baseball world.
You don't win the World Series going 1 for 30 with runners in scoring position. Unless Philly's pathetic RISP average rises they will surely lose this series. They can't pitch Cole Hamels every night.
It was hysterical how the fans were chanting "Eva, Eva" whenever Longoria came to bat! Can't wait till tonights game...
so i was jw if i was the only one that saw that fan get sack tapped on rollins when he hit his double off the wall
it looked like a flexible fence though like if your up against it your gonna get hit..cuz right when it hit the fence the guys face was hilarious and it was at waist level
i don't know. all i do know is if they clinch tomorrow when the parade rolls around i would love to be in philly and may try and convince the folks around me to take a trip. it's only about an hour and a half.. two hours max.
Im going to say this series is over. Hamels is lights out. I really was pulling for the Rays but the Phillies played some good ball. The Rays will need a miracle and probably have to beat Hamels twice now cause I think he'll throw game 7 if needed.
i just found out today if the phillies win tonight i WILL BE IN PHILLY FOR THE PARADE. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PHILLIES!
question, if MLB canceled the game while the phillies were up would they have won? edit: nm Even if the Rays hadn't tied the game in the sixth, the game wasn't going to be called, which would've resulted in the World Series championship being awarded to the Phillies. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp...id=3649539&vkey=ps2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
thats the last thing bud would want on his resume. he's thanking god that the rays tied it up kinda weird huh? so we are just gonna have a 3 1/2 inning game tomorrow? does game 6 go on thursday if the rays win? ive seen no mention of that yet this is definitely a little victory for the rays because hamels has to sit. i wonder if joe maddon will put edwin jackson shortly after the start as he was a starter for the team prior to the postseason
The game would have been suspended even if TB didn't tie up the game or were down by 50 runs. There's no way MLB would have called a WS game because of rain. Game 6 will probably be on Wednesday as scheduled. The reason for the off days is more for the weather in case of rain/snow than it is to give teams rest. And yes it's a huge advantage for TB getting Hamels out of the game, and I think the rain actually helped them score their run in the 6th. The umps were in a tough spot because I'm sure they didn't want to have a rain delay in the middle of an inning like that but the teams probably shouldn't have been playing in the 6th.
this is philadelphia luck. seriously what the ****. they should not have let them play that inning. oh yeah tampa ties it and then they call a suspension and for a resume the next day. why not when phillies are up? I'm not asking to call the game and have phillies win due to weather (or is that what would have happened?) but jeez.
i think the idea that the game could have been postponed and potentially start up at 4 in the morning was part of it lol. plus the likelihood of getting the field to an acceptable level was slim
You're one game away from the winning the WS, relax for a bit. No one can control the weather. Philly still has the advantage in the series (and even for Game 5) and plus now that the games have been pushed back it means Hamels will pitch Game 7 if they need it.
