He was on a short leash anyways. It was either him or Wilford. With Wilford getting guaranteed money this off-season, it was a matter of time before Hagan was done here. Guy can't catch a cold butt naked in the winter time in Alaska. Grammar Nazi. Just kidding.
FYI, it's "it's". And you forgot to end 'Bye Derek' with a period. How can he possibly know when you've finished your sentence!?
I gotta say this, I truly never understood why he wasn't getting playtime at all. I thought (at least going by what I read) he had a good training camp and then a decent preseason, but the guy never saw the field this season. Did he start sucking again or what? Whatever it was, good luck to him.
We have five WR's on the roster that can play on gameday. Tab Perry is on the IR. With Hagan gone, it leaves us with Bess, Ginn, Camarillo, London, Wilford. Someone said this in the CL as well. I don't understand. Hagan had no impact on London's playing time when he was on the roster because he was inactive. He's officially gone now and London's playing time stays the same, no?
Derek Hagan got into the doghouse for unspecified reasons so I would not be surprised if he was released .He wasnt even on special teams which is indicative of his prospects He always impressed his new coaches in training camp but he could not translate that to the regular season . I am guessing that he hears footsteps and now he has one of those feet firmly planted in his rear. BTW I dont doubt that this is true but I changed the title to Rumor until there is confirming info.
Can't say this is really a surprise. The fact he's been inactive pretty much all season has been a red light, at least to me. Hopefully his roster spot goes to someone who can make tackles on special teams, specifically kickoffs.
Oh I agree. I just don't understand what the release of Derek Hagan has to do with London's playing time and what he does on the field?
Honestly... Who cares? I mean, the guy was invisible anyway. Its like he was on the team but wasn't. I had seen more of Wilford than Hagan and Wilford's been inactive how many times now? So no big loss.
wr hagen cut Palm Beach Post: Palm Beach & Treasure Coast news, sports, entertainment, jobs, cars, homes Today, the Dolphins released him, an NFL source confirmed. Hagan, 24, leaves the Dolphins with just 53 catches, three touchdowns and one start in 2 1/2 seasons.
Grammar nazi. Technically isn't he a spelling one? Hagan. Such high hopes he would cure his dropsies. The kid knew how to get open but that's useless if you drop the damn ball.
Does this mean we are signing someone from the street? Is Terry Glenn still in the mix? I think this is probably as much as an indictment of Hagan as it is a show of support for Bess, London and Camarillo that we have young talent that we can develop already. But with Wilford not even suiting up, that leaves us only those three and Ginn as a wide receiving corps. Does anyone feel good about that going forward? I am not sure if I am. I would like to see a veteran presence added, especially if we do start heading down the playoff route...
Yeah, I'm with samphin here. im more interested in who we will sign than who we got rid of. Hagan was a non factor on the roster. If we can replace him with someone that makes even one tackle per game, thats an improvement.
Not that Hagan was doing anything for us, I think the wrong WR was cut...when will Wilford get his ?? Shame though, we all had hope for him because he has all the tools...except the hands and the head...He was a pretty dominant WR in college though...
not really a big surprise to me. He wasn't producing, wasn't even playing. Good luck in the future Derek.
Which is where we picked Hagan up a few years back. I actually think we will make a play for a veteran wideout in free agency.
