I borrowed this game from my roommate and beat it in 2 days. It was very annoying. The stupid begging whores who get in your face absolutely drove me nuts. Oh, and then there's the drunken bums that punch you in the face causing you to alert the guards. Nice. There were times where I wanted to run from the guards but couldn't get away because my character jump on things that i didnt want him to jump on. He would go from sprinting to climbing without my consent. VERY ANNOYING. This game was so stupid. It was the exact same mission 9 times. Wow, exciting. The only reason I finished the game was to get to access the computer in the conference room. At the end though, no such luck. Apparantely I needed to steal a pen from the crazy doctor guy earlier in the game in order to access that computer. So the only way for me to access it now, would be for me to play the entire game again. NOT HAPPENING. If this game didn't have excellent graphics, no one would have liked it. The story seems like they made it up as they went along. And the ending was hella-lame. I dont care if there's 2 sequels to follow or not, the ending to this game was PATHETIC!!!!!!! My review.... Graphics - 5/5 Story - 2/5 Gameplay - 2/5 Things that pissed me off - 5/5 The ending - 0/5 Advice to anyone considering buying or playing this game. Play up until you assinate your first target, then quit and never play it again. The rest of the game is just the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER. i hope Ubisoft goes bankrupt!!!!
This was my problem with the game. I thought everything was pretty cool but got real old quick. Just be happy you didn't buy it. You're a little behind on this subject btw.
Yeah the novelty wore off pretty quick. I mean this how I went about in the game. Find a view point, go to every target, rinse and repeat. I believe I have 3 more assassinations left. Still trying to figure out how it got better reviews than Mass Effect. I like the free run system but it repetition kills it.
They only played it for an hour??? I agree though Mass Effect>>>>>AC (maybe i need more greater than symbols)
This is so 2007... It's been so long since I played it I can hardly remember. One thing I do remember was being impressed with the swordplay in the last chapter Posted via Mobile Device
I personally liked the game sure it was repetitive but I did enjoy the story. At least they tried something kinda new instead of another typical fps. Ya they could of done some things better but they could of done much worse. I own it beat it twice, and been slowly working on a third time when bored. Take into account the amount of time it took to make that world and the free running work so they probably ran out of development time. I expect the next title to be much less repetitive because they got more time to work on game play and not technical side. If I am wrong I wall eat my crow but ubisoft seems to be one of the better companies. This guy says it perfect: The Escapist : Video Galleries : Zero Punctuation : Assassin's Creed
i'm just realizing how happy I am with Oblivion still after reading this review. i think i'm ~76 hours in and it hasn't gotten boring yet. talk about a worthwhile purchase
i enjoyed the story, thought it was a cool concept. repetitive, but still fun. i didnt mind. i forgot, what happens on the computer in the conference room. someone refresh my memory please.
here's what happens on the conference room computer: <press any button to interact> Enter Password ************* Access Denied!
Wasn't there a bunch of emails about past events that really happened, although in the game explained as events caused the the templars? or was that on the guys computer?
I enjoyed the game to some extent. I agree that is was brutally repetitive. There are only so many viewpoints and flags I feel like finding. And eventually, I just took to killing everyone to shake things up and then try to go ninja again. I think they plan on making it a trilogy, the next one takes place in Japan, if I am not mistaken. And I think they will take heed that a LOT of gamers were upset over the rinse, lather, repeat elements. So expect some more variety going forward, I would imagine.
I thought it was going to be in France? Though that sounds crappy is you ask me I want to be a flipping NINJA!
I enjoyed it too, maybe because it was the first game I played on my PS3, but the thing was just so beautiful that I didn't care about anything else (maybe only the length of the game).
Could be France. I haven't kept up with the development of the games or anything. I seem to recall Japan for some reason...
I loved the game, maybe Gish just sucks ***? The latest rumor I've heard is that it takes place in France during the 1700s.
I loved the game too, for the most part. But the repetitiveness made me want to race through the tasks just to finish. Its at that point where the homeless people really get on your nerves. I got so mad that I eventually dedicated 30 minutes to punching all the begging whores in the face. Then I killed some of the drunk dudes, and felt much better. But even with all the bums and whores, I still finished the game in 2 days. Probably like 8 or 9 hours total. It wasn't difficult. Even when there were 15 guards surrounding you, it was easy to fight them all at once. The only attack one at a time. I'm still upset about the ending, or lack of one.
Assassin's Creed Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Resistance 1 Warhawk Uncharted Battlefield: Bad Company Burnout Paradise Army of Two NCAA Football 09
I won't play part 2 or 3 of this game. Too repetive. Some of the assasinations were pretty cool though.
Sorry but it was/is one of my all time fav. games. I agree it is repetitive, but there was enough difference in the missions to keep my wandering mind interested.
Maybe so, but your telling me if the game shows that its not near as repetitive and more things to do you won't even give it a look?
I agree 100%. This game was awesome. The game pulled me in from the sights and overall feel, to the cool backwards - forwards story... The game for me was an easy 9.0/10. Very few games I have enjoyed like this one. Now, of course I wish they gave you more varied things to do, especially because I would like to spend more time in that world....maybe part 2. But as far as this first part goes, it was great and left me wanting more.
I hated this game for two reasons 1. It was WAYYYYYY repetitive 2. Who's ever idea it was to make it a "past lives" or "ancestor's memory" type gig should have been fired on the spot. Infact, I hope that guy's girlfiend/wife cheated on him with his brother. Muslims/Jews/Christians killed each other. If even the video game world is sugar coating this fact to be more "PC" than the terrorists have won. I spit on this game and the people who made it.
I'm like many of you - started the game. But after 4-5 hours in - the novelty wore off and the repetiveness killed it for me.
If I were younger, yes. But I don't get anywhere near as much time to play video games anymore. There are too many better options to play rather than hoping a mediocre at best game improved.
