FINS / JETS Game

I find myself in a position to get to Jersey for this game. It of course depends on what time slot the game may end up being played in on whether or not I will attend the game or go to Miami Mike's to watch it.

Anyone else planning on attending the game or visiting Mike's?

I gave up my tickets to watch it at home. First time in over 10 years I'm not going.

I gave them up early in the season, I guess I screwed up, although I like watching at home, no lines for beer.

For a few minutes in the 4th quarter of todays game I thought that maybe I had jinxed the fins by buying tickets to the jets game!?!?!? Well I didnt...thank god!!!

I wanted to know if anyone is going and if so we can have a tailgate. I'm going with my girlfriend who is a fan as well. Thats 2 in a vast sea of Jets who after todays game are not going to be very happy!?!?!? oh well. Send me a message or reply to the post, I'm even willing to brink by grill!!!!

You're going to want to leave pretty early for the game bro. It's only half an hour normally from Mike's to the stadium but this is a huge game as we all know and traffic is going to be insane. If you're asking what it's like at Mike's for game day - it's crazy but fun. Normally he doesn't allow the Jet fans to sit in our section but since we're playing them, they'll all be there, and they show up in force. I guarantee you, though, if we beat them, it will be well worth the trip. If you're asking what it's like at the Meadowlands for a Jets/Dolphins game, you're asking the wrong person. In December for a Jets game, I'd rather be nice and toasty in the theatre style seating at Mike's than freezing at the Meadowlands, with all the nasty Jet fans and $8 bottles of beer and, if you tie one on, you only have to head to the elevators to get to your room.

Its a 4:15 game, so you will want to leave by 11:00ish, parking is a pain with Zanadu being built, if you don't have a parking pass, you will have to park off site and take the shuttle.

I'll tell you from my one experience at Giants stadium for a Jets / Dolphins game. Be prepared for some nasty, riled up Jet fans. Greg (NJFINSFAN1) may tell you differently since he has season tickets (I think) but when you don't go regularly and they don't know you from Adam they're creeps. I didn't see any beer flying but then again this game is for even bigger bragging rights and if they're losing or lose, they're not going to be happy. The section I sat in, the Jets fans screamed at us during the entire game. One family even moved seats because we took over their section. I remember the husband/father saying Dolphin fans disgusted him so they left.

 

I have been going to the same seats every year for over 12 years, so they know me where I sit, so its not so bad (I get tickets from a company that I'm friends with).

But my son has had beer poured on him, you see fights every year.

If your not a jerk, you should be okay, just don't go overboard. This year the Jet fans are not in a very good mood, so it could be ugly.

 

Has he really Greg? With you there? Amazing. Skeet84 (Sean) was having words back and forth with a couple Jet fans sitting behind us I think for probably the entire game last year and they got pretty nasty. I don't think anything happened to him though - I didn't see him get "slimed" by beer.

 

Yeh but thats Skeet, Skeet gets cussed out at church by the pastor. And we were about 20 strong at the game too.

 

Yeah I don't think with Ken and Walt and you Eric and everyone else except for me, nothing physical happened because those couple guys knew they were outnumbered.

 

Yeah, it was a few years ago, other Jet fans got on the guy and they pointed him out and he was thrown out, I was told he lost his season tickets also.

they are not all bad, its just the young ones that are there for a party and there happens to be a football game going on.

Yeah - I think I heard that that's why they stopped selling beer after halftime at the Meadowlands.

 

I went last year and security was not putting up with any bs some guys exchange words and the jets fans were kicked out the dolphin fans just 2 stayed ,made me feel good.we got up to see if they needed help but everything died down once security showed up should be the same just smack talking like usaul.Im trying to pick up tickets but my friends cant make it so I really dont want to go alone will see.
