Dolphins Make Roster Move - NEWS: Top Story Presented by WACHOVIA - MiamiDolphins.com The Miami Dolphins today signed 12-year veteran linebacker Derek Smith as a free agent and waived wide receiver Chris Hannon.
I wonder if this means Crowder is still hurting? He is known more for coving the TE, he has good cover skills.
Overall in his 12 NFL seasons, he has played in 173 regular season games, including 168 starts. He has collected 1,528 tackles, 13.5 sacks, four interceptions, 33 passes defensed, 13 fumble recoveries and six forced fumbles during that time
Those are good numbers. Hopefully they signed him specifically for this jets game I would guess it means crowder is still hurt. Speaking of which new thread coming...
Chargers signed him in the off season due to Cooper suspension for four games, and then when Merriman went down for the year it was even a bigger pick up for them.
Why Jason? If we don't get rid of him, we don't move Porter to his natural position which means that he doesn't have the season that he's having at the moment.
He was a good all around ILB in his prime. I thought of him primarily as a tackle to tackle thumper, making a lot of stops in the run game.
And why Zach? He isn't a 34 ILB, never was. I really doubt our D would be any more effective with him at one of the two inside spots.
I wonder if Smith is to supplement Torbor if Crowder can't go and Ayodele moves over again. I think Smith is also safer to play than both Ayodele and Torbor, and maybe in some instances, Channing, on passing downs.
