Does this guy sound like he has any heart left? How do you think this will affect the team this weekend? NFL Video Galleries Just sad man...
Sounds like he's already given up. He seems content with his career, bragging about his acomplishments like the typical self centered B. Favre. Almost seems as if he doesn't care what happens next game because he has already "accompished it all". I'd be pissed if I was a JEST fan.
Here's an update/add on to that video: ESPN - New York Jets Brett Favre talks about arm, next season Sounds like music to my ears. And no, I don't think Farve is smart enough to be setting a smokescreen.
Definately sounds like he has already given up. Sounds like he doesnt care if he wins or loses. Sounds like he just wants the season to end. IMO he definately retires, and leaves the Jets with a QB'less team, and Miami winning with their old QB they peaced out. Wonder if the Gina gets canned?
Wow. If I'm a Jets fan or even a Jets player that inspires zero confidence in me. I am now more optimistic that Miami will pull this off.
You know what would have worked for the Jets? Keeping their draft picks. Having Chad Pennington play in a system designed around his strengths and drafting a young quarterback like Chad Henne and having him sit and learn for a few years while Penny holds down the fort. Would have made for a smooth transition when the time came for the youngster to play. Wait...someone ELSE in their division did that, thanks to their idiocy. Mangina!!!
Forget the Jests fans--everyone who defended Favre's conduct and attacked Ted Thompson/Mike McCarthy/Aaron Rodgers this summer now have egg on their face. All they have left is "the Jets are 9-6, the Packers are having a losing season" type fall-back rhetoric. Tony Kornheiser is going to be even more insufferable this Monday. If the Jets win, Favre will be the topic. If the Jets lose, Favre will be the topic.
I'm just wondering how long it's going to take Miss Brett to start crying again. I'm not even referring to his pseudo-retirement speech -- do you all remember the multiple press conferences a few years ago where he cried? After regular-season games? [sniff, sniff]... "I let my team down... [sniff, sniff]... we just didn't get it done today... [sniff, sniff]" In the words of the ESPN crew, "C'MON, man!"
Ok, I'm finally off of the Brett Favre bandwagon. After last year, I could understand it with him being with the the Packers for so long. But after another announcement of 'he'll take a few weeks to decide if he's going to return', I'm done. Make up your ****ing mind! He'll always be one of my all time favorite qb's, but damn, know when to go.
Hopefully he has a big long dramatic offseason that throws the Jets into chaos about what to do, then comes back at the last second to blow their season next year. Awesome. Nice to see that they were quick to pull the trigger on Mangenius when the guy mostly responsible for their collapse is almost begged to come back by the management. Classic. And Favre used to be one of my favorite players till last offseason. He proved himself to be an utterly me-first royal douchebag right there. What he did to Green Bay and its fans and Rogers was terrible, but I certainly feel they will get the last laugh in.
That they do John, that they do. And they also said that no matter who the coach is the coach will have a say in whether Favre stays or goes if he wants to return, then again one of Cowher's reasons to say no was that he didn't want to work with Favre, supposedly, and who can blame him? I certainly cant. I and other Jets fans were wrong. The organization epically failed.
He's as welcome in the locker room as he is in New York. He doesn't want to be there, and they dont want him to be there.
