Still no respect How can we be 3 point dogs at home versus Baltimore We still don't get the respect Tony show the NFL that this is no fluke
Exactly, being the underdog all season has worked pretty well for us up until now. Why mess with the formula.
Dosen't surprise me at all. They are a better team man for man period. That said.... "any given Sunday", and I'm sure Coach C. will use it for motivation so what's the big deal?
I am still euphoric about the win to worry about any of that crap......come on dude, ENJOY THE MOMENT !
Not a problem to me because I know the Fins defense can hold the Ravens offense but that Ravens defense will be scary. Do I expect Miami to win no but do I believe they can win yes, so I am excited. Let the doubters doubt and we shall see what happens.
My main worry is their three headed run game. McClain has to have the lightest feet I have ever seen for a 260 lbs. tailback.
You guys realize our downward spiral as a franchise all began with a home playoff loss to Baltimore in 2001. This has all come full circle, we need to win.
Yes very true but what has been the Achilles heel of the Fins defense all year? The answer is the spread offense which I don't believe will be a factor with Baltimore. I feel their running game can be stopped, the Fins crowd will be raucous as not seen in probably the last 10 years, and if the offense can use enough gadget plays a win can be secured. Winnable game but that defense is what scares me.
I don't mind to be underdog, less pressure and when Sunday comes, we can deliver another surprise. What a great victory for the Dolphins today, I can't wait for next Sunday!
That didn't begin our downward spiral at all. THere's a very long list of things that lead to our demise. The biggest reasons though were some bad luck and/or bad choices in coaching/GM picks to run this organization. One game dosen't destroy a franchise.
I never said that one game destroyed us. I said that is where our bad luck began. I don't think thats inaccurate.
I would not listen to the point spread what is the point. If we listen to everything they said there would be not reason to play on sundays. Keep putting us down. I like it when we are the underdogs. So we can come out angry.
I don't believe in "bad luck". Our troubles were from our own doing. Luck had nothing to do with it. Our horrific recent past has all been discussed to death on here but there is a clear and documented path of destruction to follow to see why this organization bottomed out.
I don't believe in bad luck or curses either. If you'd like me to put it another way. The last time we were truely a successful team, we lost to Baltimore in the playoffs at home. After that everything slid downhill. Now we play them at home again in the playoffs, and have a chance to use it as a springboard forwards.
I think you are reading way too much importance into this but hey who cares. We just won the AFC East. I think that's all the springboard we need forwards when paired with the real reasons we'll have future success. That being the hires of Parcells, Sporano and Ireland.
Too much into what I'm not saying it's an act of god that we are playing them or that it needed to be this way. I'm saying it would be great to pick up where we left off and move forwards instead of backwards this time. I don't care who we play, I just want to win.
How many teams this year won as the underdog? MANY That shows you that the over/under means jack ****
Not about respect for the books, it's about money. They can't make Miami home favorites against B-More and expect anything but lopsided action. Baltimore -3 as it is has already attracted near 85% of the action. THe books don't drive these lines, the betting public does and that's all the line reflects(in the NFL)
Is this from Walter's site? I think he only gets his numbers from one site. I'm looking at nearly over 100k bets and around 87% action on Baltimore
IMHO its very warranted.. On paper (well on the field they might be too), Baltimore IS the better team. While we struggle to beat whom we play, Baltimore blows teams out. I have no problem whatsoever playing the role of the underdog.. I think we play better anyway when we are.
I don't care either what the spread is. Just win. I don't care if it's by 1 or 21. Though my heart might like 21 better.
No respect from anyone. all anyone can say is, "weak schedule", and excuses. not a soul picked us to win....but hey, no one gave us much of a chance to even beat the Jets this past Sunday, and get into the playoffs. Bring it on Baltimora.
To be honest, all of that was said about the Ravens, too. Four wins against the Browns and Bengals, haven't beaten teams with a winning record, etc, etc. As of yesterday evening, all bets are off. It's a one-game season from here on out.
not all but its because as proven in the past its usually always a hot team with a hot d that makes a run to the sb. ex. giants indy steelers ravens 2000... thats why a lot of experts love the ravens now but all year experts have been hating on the ravens cause we lost close to pitt twice and lost to tenn close
The "spread" is warranted and will grow as Sunday approaches. Ravens lead the NFL in point differential (i.e. blowouts), which is amazing considering that they have played the 7th hardest schedule in the NFL (Dolphins 30th), year-to-date. They are 2nd in team defense; 3rd in rushing offense and lead the NFL in both 26 interceptions (26) and time of possession. Ravens are a few breaks/calls away from 14-2. Maybe 15-1 if the ball doesn't bounce off Mason's helmet.
So what... It really has nothing to do with Sunday really.... The Dolphins have 60 minutes to get it done......
good post i agree but point differential stats are misleading a lot of times ... and the spread dont mean jack unless ur gonna bet ... everybody here knows how good the d is
