Now that we all know the 2010 Pro Bowl will be played in Miami... With the Pro Bowl AND the Superbowl both being played in Miami that year imagine the amount of revenues the organization will have in that year.. Perhaps Wayne doesnt sell the team now?
I hope not. I would love for miami to win him a ring before he goes... I dont see one this year but if we keep Parcells then i see one within a few years
I don't think Wayne wants to sell this team. However, he can't afford seeing his family get screwed by uncle sam like the Robbie family did.
Sorry guys, money talks and everybody else walks. Wayne can't afford to give up the kind of money that is being talked about for his family's sake. We aren't talking about pocket change here, even for Wayne H., so I can't blame him. Besides he will still have 5% and I'll bet you can't keep him away from watching his Fins in the SB; plus getting a ring. Any takers?
The inheritance tax is what forced the Robbies to sell the Dolphins to Wayne. If Wayne dies tomorrow his family is stuck with the capital gains tax.
Wayne originally was going to sell his Dolphin assets in stages . He has accelerated the buyout because Obama has been making noises that taxes will be raised for windfall profits . However Obama has backed down from that stand so Wayne may have more time than he thinks.
He knew that the NFL was going to consider playing a pro bowl in Miami. He knew that Miami would be getting a lot more Super Bowls. That's why he had the stadium upgraded to the NFL's standards. He also knew that by doing this his team would be worth a lot more money and he was ready to sell because he's gettiing old and if he passed away while still be owner, his family would be severely taxed.
