PFH and I are watching the Dolphins/San Diego game again (ok, we're a litte psyched). Random question, but I've thought of this before and never asked -- just how big ARE these big screens in our stadium?!!?!? We went to our one and only "home" game in October 1999 (McNabb's first game, my surprise, "first anniversary gift" to PFH), but those huge flatscreens certainly weren't there then)...
OK, I'm stunned on two counts: #1: One thousand, seven-hundred and fifty inches #2: You knew that Thanks, DaFish!
The entire facade has changed since then too. Wayne pulled the big bucks out of his pocket and threatened to spend billions more if the NFL had agreed to come to Miami every three years for the SuperBowl. http://www.dolphinsstadium.com/content/stadium.aspx
WOW! That's absolutely gorgeous! Thanks, Zod, for sharing. EDIT: Just now noticed the open, upper deck... spectacular!
I read an article about the screens when they upgraded and remembered the specs for like a day. I kinda cheated and googled it. Thanks anyways though. And your welcome.
Upon further review of these pics -- I'd like to live in one of those condos across the road... that stadium big screen would look like a normal TV in their living room??? lol
Yes.... They moved that concrete out in 10 or 15 feet increments. It totally changes the atmosphere from a cramped corridor to a virtual football field outside. The last game I attended was the first 10 feet of expansion.
The bigger of the two has more square footage than my yard! From my seats in the opposite endzone it's still huge. Gotta love an owner who would pop for those kinds of upgrades.
Thanks to Beemerdaddy, I got to visit the club area and watched the Jets game this year. Look how close I was able to park to my seats! (the red Dodge Nitro)
no you don't....not a good area, and i think those are government housing ...or discount or whatever the term is... but i get your drift edit: whoops, MW got to that response first haha
According to the media guide, the East endzone LED is 140' x 50'. West endzone is 100' x 50'. The actual boards are slightly larger.
Apparently, New Owner Ross is looking at developing the area around the Stadium, makes sense if you just dumped 250 million into stadium improvements, you'd want Condos or what have you nearby.
This is the east screen from the west endzone, 10x zoom. This was the last Christmas game.. This from my seat looking up and back.. see the lights to the right.. I was under some and the drips were falling on us all night.. BIG drops. This is normal view..heyTrav.. who's THAT guy?;
