Some pretty interesting picks in this mock. Oher and Smith off the board at 2 and 3. When the Chiefs had the lowest sack total in the league this year why would they take Smith at 3 and pay him all that up front cash to play RT?

Curry sliding down to 8, Everette Brown at 9 .

Sanchez at 10 to the 49ers? Singletary should want to re sign immediately if that happens.

Pettigrew at 10 to the Bills, thats a scary thought. He is the most complete TE I have seen in a while.

Maybin at 14, way to high for him IMO.

He has us taking Laurinaitis, with Sean Smith, Britton, Unger, Mack, Marks and Hakeem Nicks on the board. Give me anyone of those guys over Laurinaitis.

Do you really think Laurinitis is going to still be there at 25?

Yes he will probably fall out of the first round.

Would not be a shock to see him there at pick # 44 especially if he craps his 40 time at the combine and has a poor overall showing.

I dont think it will happen, but nothing shocks me anymore in the draft. Remember how we were all stressing on whether or not Brady Quinn would fall to pick #9 for us and where did he end up going?

Yes he is one dimensional right now, but he could potentially be great value at 25.

Would he be a huge contributor as a rookie? Probably not.

But he would help us in an area we needed last year (pass rush), and with a year of NFL training he could mature his body enough to be a dynamic player.

And I admit, I like him. If we were picking in the top 10, probably even top 15, I would not really want us to take him. But when you are that deep into the first round I think you can take a chance on such a player as Maybin.

PS: I like the mock too because I like Britt. :tongue2:

I like Britt as well, would prefer Macho Harris with our original 2nd rounder. Where did they come up with the Safety from Wake?

Not sure, that one was a bit of a head scratcher, especially since he's a SS.

You'd think if they said S for us they'd say Rashad Johnson or Louis Delmas.

Just another hodge podge mock draft put together by a fan. Now you know why I dont do one. Having said that, mine will be out after the combine.

Not saying it's not a hodge podge, but I have seen a lot worse mocks before.

And honestly, the real draft never comes out like people expect so something like this one might be closer to reality than we all think (though it is waaaaay to early to really be like this one lol).

If Maybin was there at 44, I'd take him. Get Maybin to develop his game and start off first as a situational pass rusher. The big question is just how light or heavy is he? I've seen him listed anywhere between 230 and 255. We'll have to see what he weighs in at the combine.

I liked that mock, there were only 4 tackles taken...and I've got a half baked theory working about Tackles sliding in this draft..:lol:

If Sean Smith were there at #25...man...I'd have to pull the trigger...Cb's like Smith are hard to find..

I'd bet 240. Had we been guessing end of the season I'd say closer to 230, but having a bit to prepare and recoup from the season I would guess he'll put on at least 5 lbs from his playing weight which I'd guess was 235.

No way he goes top 10 IMO. He shouldn't at least. Like I said, after 15 or so I'd expect teams to gain more and more interest in him.

I would be thrilled with Laurinaitis. I think I'm the only one on the board that feels that way, so be it.

I don't know why people say he's slow, he's one of the quickest linebackers you'll see for a while.

I would be really disappointed in Laurinaitis.

I don't think I'd be terribly disappointed. We need a MLB and James Laurinaitis is a MLB and I'm sure he can play at the next level so, whatever. You could do worse with a #25 pick. But you could also probably do better.

Best pick? Maybe....Best back? I dont think so.

When healthy Well's is an elite back thing is that is a pretty big if.

Could have grabbed Sintim in both drafts.

Anybody think we'd actually grade Maybin over him?

Certainly not over, maybe equal to. In which case it might come down to who else is left on the board.

Or it might come down to versatility, and they might think Maybin could be used on 4 man lines more then Sintim or something?

    I don't know.

its possible IMO. i think Maybin is a better pass rusher already and is quicker and faster. ceiling on Maybin is higher then Sintim's is.

That's very true but Clint Sintim has been playing in the 34 his entire college career and wouldn't have to make the transition to outside linebacker. He's also the safer pick, which is something I think the management leans toward.

I think they might consider Maybin over Sintim if they are happy with Roth's play. They could play him 2 downs and then moving Porter over to SLB and Maybin to WLB on 3rd downs in the mean time and eventually Maybin takes over for Porter.

I disagree. I think its Donald Brown. he just reminds me of Curtis Martin; kinda short and shifty, doesnt have great speed but always falls forward and kind of overlooked...

And he seemingly never takes a big hit. Hes going to make some team with a zone blocking scheme extremely happy. If SD trades LT he would be a perfect fit. :wink2:

I think this is the first Mock Draft so far that I've liked. Enough of this Maclin & Harvin crap, Defense wins Championships and if we're going WR lets go with a real WR like Heyward-Bey or Nicks.
