Holy crap! I didn't believe it would happen. I am kinda of indifferent on this one. I will wait until I see the money before I give you my reaction.

I do think the Penny and Cole connection can only help.

I can't believe this. The only thing I've read or heard is that he is visiting with the Buffalo Bills today.

Nice find. " Pennington throws across the middle... Touchdown Coles!. Two two former jets hook up for another touchdown against their old team." The season can't come soon enough

No surprised of the mixed reaction from fans... Same thing when Pennington arrived.

If true, I like the signing, Coles should help open our pass game even more.

Great pickup. Hopefully we can find a big receiver in the draft, but we should be pretty good at receiver next year. Better than last year at least.

    #1 Coles
    #2 Ginn
    #3 Camarillo
    #4 Bess

    Just need that big guy.

Hope they didn't trow a bunch of $ at him. I think he's a better option than Harrison, as far as productivity.

+1^^. I dont get it. Maybe he came relatively cheap. Because if we paid him any real $$.... well I just dont get it. I know hes a Parcells guy, but hes on the down side of his carreer and we're rebuilding. Oh well, I hope he can be productive and prove me wrong. The way Chad did. but I dont like it.:pity: Whos gone now? London? Wilford?(I hope)..

Nothing to do with it man... If this was a few years ago, I would be happy about it. But he's getting older and isn't as talented as he once was. The contract numbers will be key in determining If I like this deal... It doesn't matter where he comes from.

I would certainly welcome the addition, but it just isn't true. I don't see anything, no blurb, nothing anywhere on the Internet right now.

    11-5 is rebuilding?

we are a few positions away from being a consistant contender......

coles brings veteran leadership and outstanding chemistry with our quaterback....why not welcome that with open arms?

I only listen to ESPN radio on important days like today, so I hope they are reliable. He's not 6-3 like I would of hoped, but if it's true, he should improve what we have and help the younger guys learn the position.

I love it. I don't care how tall he is. He's now our best receiver. I don't even think there is a debate. He's 32, so there's plenty of gas left in the tank.

His double-moves have killed us for years!

Whoa...Try again. Coles is often seen as being reclusive with his team. He is a complainer. Far from a leader. I like the guy, but he is what he is.

Who is a better option than a guy that has great chemistry with Chad Pennington? Find me that young guy outside of the draft that you would want that would be better?

I would still love to get Kenny Britt in the 2nd round, but this is a good pickup. You mix in some seasoned vets with the young guys. Our Wr's had no vets wr to talk to last year unless it was Wilford bringing them water.

11-5 is not an easy task in the NFL, no matter how you swing it. We are not rebuilding, we're building on what we have now.

We needed a proven and reliable #1 Wr who wouldn't break the bank, Coles is that type of Wr and he is also healthy and has something to prove this year.

The jets have had more than their fair share of complainers over the years. Maybe its the crappy jet organization that causes the complaints.

Coles may not be a vocal leader like Ray Lewis, but he'll lead by example.

We already have Bess and Camarillo to be the short across the middle receivers.

I do not like this signing.

Not the best link to prove, because they all believe it's fake--not to mention the link he gave from foxsports mentions nothing of the deal.

Not trying to harp on you gunn, but I just don't see it because it's been an hour since you reported it and nothing on pft, cbssportsline, foxsports, nfl network, rotoworld, kffl or espn. The only Coles news mentioned is him visiting Buffalo today. Why would he be on his way to Buffalo if he signed a deal?

I've watched Coles kill us time and time again. He is NOT strictly a "short across the middle receiver". He can go deep effectively. He also is just plain better than Bess and Camarillo - short, deep, you name it.

    LOVE this signing.

Only thing I've seen on Coles Is this

    Laveranues Coles-WR-Jets Feb. 27 - 1:51 pm et

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel confirms that the Dolphins have interest in free agent Laveranues Coles, but only "at the right price."

The Fins have seemed a lot more intent on upgrading their offensive line and defense than skill positions to this point. They're not in the mix for any of the top receivers available. Coles is younger and might want at least what T.J. Houshmandzadeh gets. The Dolphins definitely won't pay that.
