Is there anyone else concerned about how we are or may become the Dallas Cowboys? I was searching the internet and came across the following article. “While Parcells is raiding the Cowboys coaching staff, he might also pilfer secondary coach Todd Bowles, defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers and linebackers coach Paul Pasqualoni. Their contracts have expired.†Parcels worked with all of these guys and put this coaching staff into place I could see him taking some of these guys and placing them on our staff. Not a bad thing but I haven’t been completely impressed with Dallas. Don’t get me wrong at all they are a VERY good team that plays well. I just don’t see them as a elite team in the NFL. With all that said I would rather be Dallas then Miami these past few years.
Theres nothing wrong with it, like I said in the post. I just don't see Dallas as an elite team and I would prefer to have my own Identity.
right, I can't believe some fans complain (not saying this is a complain thread) about raiding tha Cowboys. This is the second year in a row they made the playoffs. They are successful and we are not. I say raid them as much as possible
they were second in the NFL in scoring, they are elite. Not elite in terms of NE, but they are definately elite in their conference
No read the post again. Not a complaint thread. Like I said I would just like to have my own identity. I would hate to see Miami become a clone of another team.
How about elite in the NFC the sub division? There is 2 playoff teams in that division and the rest are pretenders. there are teams in the AFC that didn't make the playoffs that can go to the NFC and be a leader. I really don't think they can perform weekend and week out in AFC. - we are making this into a Dallas thread and it is not. The point I'm trying to make is we ae going to be Dallas and I'm not saying it is a bad thing. I'm just asking is that what fans would like to see in Miami?
I just said this. I dont care who we have to get to get this team turned around.. Would you rather we hired a bunch of college coaches with no experience like the road we have taken before, or raid a team that is successful
I think to some extent the players define your identity. So when we have a squad we will have a different identity than them...just a similar philosophy. Dallas is a solid fundamental team. If they aren't in your elite group..well they aren't many moves away from being there. If we could move in that direction we will be much improved. My concern is more of our head coach. I don't know Tony Sparano and I can't evaluate him, but I fervently want a guy that is more than a Parcells yes man.
I can see what you are saying with regards to Sparano. I would assume that he is a Parcells Puppet as well. BUT I hear that he is a very I stress VERY good coach. I know Flozell Adams by ways of a close friend and he has said that Sparano is a Great coach that really knows his stuff. I trust what he says but Parcells is going to controll the guy for a while (again not a bad thing) but when the Tuna leaves where will that leave us? I mean we could have the greatest coach of all times on our hand and only time will tell. I just want a guy that will be a winner and stay for a decade or so.
I couldn't even begin to evaluate a new head coach. I have nothing tangible to hold onto. This guy could end up being a HOFer and taking us to Super Bowls. I just hope he has more to him than being a Parcells mouthpiece.
No I was agrreing with you..., 13-3 who can argue with that...?, that's nonsense..., similar to the guy who wrote that Indy was built wrong... 13-3 who can argue with that...? Total nonsense
y is that a bad thing. they are a championship caliber team. plus we never fired a LB coach so we cant sign dallas's
I read where the Ravens were really impressed with Jason Garrett and are having him come for a second interview. I'm hoping we'll so the same because we might end up vying for the same coaches. Oh, the answer to the initial post, is not really; There's always been a merry-go-round where coaches are concerned, and we've got to have some, and they have to come from somewhere... might as well be those that the new regime's comfortable with, it certainly would make the transition smoother.
At the end of the day ... do we consider the PATS, JETS, 'BOYS all 'clones' of the GIANTS ... I don't believe that .. as each team was different - if for no other reason than that of the different QBs. There are other examples as well ... but this was the easiest. There is no way we would be a clone of the 'BOYS, because our personnel will be different. The philosophy will be the same - but how it carried out on the field is determined by your roster. Most certainly, ours will be different.
Agreed. Now, lets see what else they did last year....they lost to New England 27-48; they beat Buffalo 25-24; and they slaughtered the Jets 34-3. I'll take that over our past season any given day.
This is what I am talking about. Dallas is a Very good team in the NFC. But I'm not so sure they are the same team if they are playing in the AFC. In order for us to win we need to be built to be NE period or we will alwasy end up short and no matter how good we become we will always be playing for a wild card spot. I love Parcells coming in and changing the front office. But I'm not so sure that the Dallas clone is the right thing. I did not see 1/2 enough of Dallas to make an assesment and I started the thread with the hopes that someone did and can give me insight. But from the little of Dallas that I've seen I'm concerned.
And you should be, they're in the NFC, no where near the caliber of the AFC..I don't think Dalllas is 13-3 in the AFC..more like 9-6 this year....don't get me wrong, that team is going in the right direction.. I'd prefer to take NE's staff. They know what great players look like and should be able to do. Other staff's I wouldn't mind taking from are the Titians and the Jags...especially the Titian's staff, those guys built a good team after dismantling the old team..which btw, went to a superbowl...I think a combo of coachs from these 4 teams can help us a lot. Bill hasn't been to the SB since when...???. His DC from the Giants contstantly goes, or at least to the playoffs. Jeff Fisher's team went back this year and was a game away last year..this is a coach who picks good staff as well as good players.
You know I worried about this at first, but I warmed to this idea because of the one thing this team lacks.. Continuity... These coaches have all worked together, know what they are all looking for and how and what the other demand from them.. That will make us that much better FASTER... There is a working relationship already built in... The head coach will not be scared to go to Bill and say this is Bullshiet I need this or that... Lets get our STAFF in place NOW and have a good 6 months Jump on everyone else in the leauge on preparing for next year... Im on record as us winning 8 games next year...
gotcha... to try and say "what has Dallas done", or Indy is built wrong" is just being ignorant plain and simple and lacks realistic POV's
well considering BP built most of that team... we probably will look a lot like Dallas and in regards to Sparano being a BP 'puppet', thats just false. Sparano is not going to be anyone's puppet
We're not gonna be the Cowboys but there's nothing wrong with taking some of their coaches and maybe a couple of their players too...we'll have our own team...just managed and coached by different people that are all in the same page...nothing wrong with that. Ozzy rules!!
Nothing at all wrong with the fact that these people are leaving an organization that just wrapped up a 13-3 season to come here, especially after the season Miami had. Speaks volumes about the fact that this organization still has clout within the NFL circles.
How is being a #1 seed in the playoffs not elite? Sure they were 1&done, but they did have some hella distractions these past few weeks. We have problems winning games with NO distractions; I say we raid a team that won 13x the amount of games we did.
We're basically taking the main architects that put a very good Dallas Cowboys team in place. As terrible as we've been it has to be a step in the right direction.Ireland, Sparano etc. are the first choices of Parcells to turn this thing around. I think we have to trust Parcells to do te job he's been paid to do. The guy has a big reputation and an even bigger ego. Good things will happen fast.
We're not taking on the Cowboy's identity. We're taking on the Bill Parcells identity. He just happened to have several of those identity pieces working over in Dallas.
I noticed dallas in the playoffs and us at 1 - 15. Ill take what they have all day long, and twice on sundays
