It seems that A-Rod is to have hip surgery, and will be out for 10 weeks. While it might be true, I wonder if this is a ruse by Selig to cover up a suspension for his steroids admission ? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/134417-ny-yankee-woes-continue-alex-rodriguezs-cyst-may-need-surgery-posada-dh
Yep out to mid May, should miss at least 5 weeks of the season. He is having surgery, I don't think Selig can make that up. The cyst could be from steroid shots.
Funny how all the outed steriod users had sudden injury problems after being exposed as frauds. Leads me to conclude that the roids did play a major role in keeping them strong and healthy.
Wow. Didn't even know he was hurt at all. ESPN is reporting there is no link between the injury and steroids.
On WFAN they were talking about two other known steroid users that had the same problem (The names escape me), and where do you take the shots??? Could be something to it.
I'd say there's a 0% chance this is a secret suspension. Both the union and Boras would sue the MLB (and they'd win too since those tests were never suppose to have been public information). I also think it's tough to say this is from steroids of not. Everything is pure speculation.
Cody Ramus or Angel Berroa right now, but I'm guessing the Yankees will make a trade for someone a little bit later in ST depending on how long they think he might be out for. I wouldn't be shocked if they made a move for someone Beltre, Mora, Hank Blalock, Bill Hall or Brandon Inge just off the top of my head.
Dont know if this is a direct result of Steroids or not, HOWEVER, there is ZERO doubt this is indeed a direct result of Karma biting very near his candy-***.
Maybe its a suspension because of being seen with the cousin, or with that trainer ? But I do agree that 10 weeks is a lot for something like that. So it's probably real
Don't worry, the Yankees will just pay out $ 15 million and buy someone else's 3rd baseman. I mean, you do realize that the rest of baseball is just farm clubs for the Yankees.
Could be a torn labrum...meaning 4 months if he needs surgery. Ouch if true. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
Anybody else think its funny that his brother predicts 10 weeks if surgery is needed: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/11462236 but the Doctor's are predicting 4 months.... Its all about Karma baby...and I promise you it isnt on A-Roids side...
I know, saw today on Mike & Mike on ESPN2 that the the whole of the National League spent $ 186 million on free agents (and this number includes Ramirez), and that all of the American League except for the Yankees spent $ 175 million. The Yankees alone, all by themselves.......spent a total of..... $ 441 million !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats nothing, you realize that every single year, their (Yankees) payroll is about = to bottom 5 salaries COMBINED. As bad as they may be, I bet I could create a contender if I could pick through the rosters of the: Florida Marlins Tampa Bay Rays Oakland A's Pittsburgh Steelers Washington Nats... http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/salaries
Now remember the Rays made it to the World Series last year and the Marlins were 84-77 and were only eliminated from the Wild Card in the last week of the season. Both teams, despite payroll, are not bad. If memory serves, the Marlins were 7-2 against the D'Backs last year
This has got to be killing Bud Sp....whatever the commish name is. After the Bonds crap, baseball needed this guy to be clean, and he's not.
Bud needs to grow a pair or atleast one. He's scared of everyone. He's gotta be the biggest joke of a commish I've ever seen. Thats why baseball is a joke, no offense to anyone that enjoys watch it.
I agree, he's horrible, but he does what the owners want, so he stays. He also makes $ 18,500,000 a year to be horrible. I wish I had such a job.
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_y...B?slug=ap-yankees-a-rodship&prov=ap&type=lgns a-rod gonna try to play hurt, and avoid surgery...but blah blah he is in it for the money
We all saw the difficulty Mike Lowell had playing with a hip injury last season. A-Rod won't be effective with a hip injury and will need the surgery.
Meanwhile MLB offices just cut the jobs of nearly 200 office workers whose combined salary is just over $ 8 million. Couldn't Bud have gotten along on $ 10 million so that 200 secretaries could work ?
I think its a mistake and the Yankees and A-Roids will regret it, because he'll have to have the surgery later anyways.
Agreed completely. If I was a Yankee fan I'd rather him get the surgery now and come back in July/August for the playoff run (while trading for a stop gap guy now), rather than try to rehab it now and risk him not being able to move ala Lowell in August or Sept when they might not have a proper replacement.
