I'm considering signing up, and was just wondering if anyone has had or know someone that has had any success on such dating sites as eHarmony, match.com, chemistry.com, etc. ? Thanks.
Yes. My wife and I met through this sort of thing 18 years ago. We have been married for 17 years now. It was different then, but the same concept. My wife has a client who is from England, and is the nicest person. She met her husband through eHarmony, and they are very happy, and expecting there first baby in 6 months I believe. Best of luck.
never tried one of those but i have met and dated someone online. It's fine as long as you trust your instincts and you treat them as you would want to be treated. and be up front; just like any other time you are dating someone. if you don't want it to be serious just let them know. likewise if you want someone in it for the long haul that's something they need to know too. just be honest and up front and you'll have a good time
My girlfriend's roommate met her current boyfriend on eharmony, and my roommate met his current girlfriend the same way. So it can work.
I have met two girls who after our relationships didn't work out too long, we became really great friends through plentyoffish.com. I met my fiance through yahoo personals.
I meant the process of using match.com to send messages to women, coordinate dates and meet good people.
If you decide to try match.com or plentyoffish.com, please wait until you see one of their ads atop our page and click it.
That's pretty amazing. I've thought about trying out those sites, but it probably cause me some trouble at home.
ad whore Seriously, ive gotten a few "booty" calls this way. wasnt looking for a gf at the time and they werent looking for a bf so it worked out.
It's a good thing you put "booty" in quotes, because I wasn't sure if you were talking about "pirate treasure" calls. Thanks

Update. I met someone who is pretty awesome on eHarmony, and have been talking to her for about 3 weeks now. Problem is, she lives on the other side of the country. I may visit her when I can afford it, and if all things go well could possibly end up moving there eventually. Has anyone else faced this dilemma of a long distance connection? She also has 2 little boys that live with her, I of course have no children, so this would be a huge change in my life if I pursued a relationship with her.
Just to and not to get ahead of yourself. Long distance relationships rarely work out. Especially that distance. And she has two kids. I'm not saying these are bad things, but they are almost always insurmountable obstacles. And you said it yourself; her life represents a huge change for you. Do not underestimate that. Distance makes it hard for things to progress naturally. Being on opposite sides of the country and her having two little ones means you'd never see each other. And kids are a big deal. As a single guy, you'd not only have to accept her kids as your own and take care of them, but you have to come to terms with the fact that you won't be having your 'own' children first. That can have all kinds of side effects on everyone involved. Not to mention dealing with the baby daddy. I've been in a similar situation, though my gf and her kid were only 2 hours away. I know it's not the most pleasant right now, but my honest advice would be to look for someone in your area.
