Hey guys Other than checking out this Fin site, I'm a regular visitor to another. And I saw that they are trying to put together a far-reaching poll to get the pulse of Dolphin fans. This poll has to do with who you all want to be picked with the 25th pick by the Dolphins Here's the link: http://www.thephinsider.com/2009/4/9/828900/the-pulse-of-dolphins-nation-draft It's been up for less than an hour and its approaching 100 votes. If enough people learn about this poll, we could get a good reading on who us fans most want the Fins to take. I'd suggest checking it out. Later, guys. And Go Dolphins!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The wording on that poll was unusual...I think it should have been more like " What pick do I think will be #25" not which do I most want...after all, I most want Aaron Curry or BJ Raji at #25, but that won't be happening..
I guess you didn't actually read the post where the poll is explained? One of the assumptions is that certain players will be gone by the time our pick comes up.
I did. And both the title of this thread and the title of that article are misleading. Both suggest that the accompanying poll will indicate which player Dolphin fans would most like to see drafted with our first pick. Or "get the pulse" of Fin fans. But then the poll is limited by the writer's own assumptions and beliefs as to who will still be available. By doing this you cannot get an accurate indication.
Ayers available at 25?? Are you kidding me? Sign me up now!!! Even Mayock recently said that he thinks three years from now people will look back and say Ayers was easily the best defensive player in this entire draft. He has good power, good quickness, can play the run, rush the QB and drop decently. His main issues are with technique and are all, imo, correctable. We don't hear that he simply has the wrong body frame, or that he has slow feet (things you can't really change much at all imo). Instead, it's just slightly better hand use, better execution in his pass rush technique, slightly more strength from a good strength program that will take him from very good to elite. He is 90% there in most regards. In a couple years he'll be a complete package. You know how rare those are?
