Dolphins picks: 25 MIAMI DOLPHINS: EVERETTE BROWN, OLB, FLORIDA ST. 44 MIAMI DOLPHINS (f/WAS): HAKEEM NICKS, WR, NORTH CAROLINA 56 MIAMI DOLPHINS: SEAN SMITH, CB, UTAH 87 MIAMI DOLPHINS: T.J. LANG, OL, EASTERN MICHIGAN http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php
#2 Pass Rusher in the Draft #2 Receiver in the Draft #2 Corner in the Draft I would be positively giddy.
I would be good with that draft too. Jasper Brinkley is the pick after Lang in that mock - insert Brinkley there and that would be fantastic.
That is a matter of opinion. TBH, I've not seen any draft publication refer to S Smith as the #2 corner. Nicks isn't ever listed as the #2 Wr for that matter, but he is probably at least 2nd for most polished. It would be a nice draft anyway, whether they are all #2 at their positions or not.
I'd be pissed if we pass on Barwin twice and the Pats get him at 47. Looking at how the picks played out in his mock draft, even after taking Brown at 25, if Barwin was on the board at 44, I'd take him too. At 56, rather than Smith, I'd take Gilbert or Wood. Rather than Lang at 87, I'd take Asher Allen or Coye Francies.
Well, the first two are good, albeit flawed players, Brown is not a high motor guy, Smith has limited experience at Cb and the third pick, Lang, is far to early a pick to add depth to the Oline if we are dreaming here, why not throw in Rashad Johnson as a LB/S type?
Keep the first three picks the same but switch the 4th pick to Dorel Scott, who was available according to their mock, and I'd be thrilled with this haul.
My old friend Everette Brown! That would be a tremendous first three rounds. Absolutely. Lang would not be a bad pick. Eastern Michigan ran the ball pretty effectively last season. However Scott would be better.
If they feel enough confidence in Soliai and Cohen then those two guys might be greater needs than Scott.
i just don't see us picking up a DT/NT before the 5th round at the earliest ... so i don't see Scott as being likely.
