I just hope they fix the blocking. I get so sick of guys letting defenders just run by them untouched.
agreed. no. i think he means like on runs to the outside where the pulling linemen dont even try to block the guys that are sprinting into the backfield. or on some pass plays like 3 linemen will call spin in circles and let everyone run past. they get confused too easily. but i believe i heard ian cummings say that they addressed this issue. whether they fixed it or not, we'll have to wait and see.
I LOVE running HB dive between Smiley and Satale then Trucksticking the LB. I get so bored with Madden sometimes I devote myself to running the whole game, I have won on a few occasions by just running every play and playing good defense ofcourse
I was just sodomized by Marino. He abused everything that I tried with the vikings. He held Peterson to 7 yards on 5 carries. And his play calling kept me all over the place on defense. Sproles left, Tomlinson up the middle, Gates on the corner, and then.......THE MOTHER EFFING DEEP POST!!!! I finished the game with less than 30 yards. 21-6, and he was nice and didnt try to score at the end.
Fin, are you playing Madden 09? If so, please, explain to me how you are able to get the Truck Stick to work. LOL. Madden 08, I used to LOVE trucking guys with Ronnie. In 09, for the ps3, I can't truck anyone. About the only time it actually does the animation is if I hit it to early, and then he trucks nothing but air. I try to truck safties and corners, and it never does anything.
Technically bro its called the "highlight stick" these days but if your squared up with a defender and press up on the right directional stick you can lower your shoulder and plow the LB alot of times. Ofcoures Im stuck in the stone ages playing with the PS2.

I was just wondering if you were playing on a next-gen system...cause, in my experience, when playing online with the ps3, you can't "truck" people like you could in 08 on the ps2. I used to love lowering my shoulder with Ronnie, and running guys over, but I can't seem to do it in 09 like I could in 08...especially not if I'm going at a linebacker.
the highlight stick is horrible. youre better off trying to stiff arm or spin. the highlight stick needs to be renamed the fumble stick.
what i love the most, is when i tap X to slide to avoid a hit and keep the clock running, and my player dives instead and reaches the ball out and fumbles without touching anything.
notice how blurry the WR and the crowd are. they went to great lengths to create a true focal point that replicates actual camera focusing.
People find so many computer glitches you had BETTER be able to make pre snap adjustments on defense.

Hell even the LOADING SCREEN with the "NFL 2k" coming in is cool.
I have played them all and Madden is hands down the best sports game ever. KenGriffey Jr baseball on Super Nintendo is a close second.

Madden is all hype. Sales numbers prove nothing. They have no competition for the love of God. The Show not only doesn't need to eliminate its competition, it is exclusive to a 3rd place console and still wins. I have a copy of Madden and it collects dust b/c I'm too busy playing the Show. I suspect I'm not alone.

Well when their is a TV show on ESPN2 and a $100,000 dollar tourny for "The Show" let me know. Not hating on the show but just sticking up for Madden. The green eggs are good but not a huge fan of ham.
Once again Madden has no competition. And less people are into baseball in than football these days. It doesn't change the fact that it's a superior game. Wow, a TV show on ESPN2. I wonder if it was before or after national cheerleading competitions. Or bowling. We were only saying that it is a higher quality game. None of your hype arguments will change that. Sorry. Madden is a hype machine. Too bad it hasn't had substance for years now.
The Show is a better game, just like it could be argued NHL 09 is just as good a game, if not better than the most recent madden. Only thing is Hockey and Baseball aren't nearly as popular video games (nor are they as popular real sports IMO, especially among those who play video games). Aside from that the Show is released on one console, while Madden is released on everything known to man that is still being pushed (save for PC unless they finally came back out on it). So of course Madden will sell more, just like ****ing wii-play sells more. Doesn't mean it is a better game though. NCAA was a better game last year too (Online Dynasties FTW!!). And this is coming from a guy who buys Madden every year or at least every other.
Ive been a hardcore Madden guy for years.... I have won tourney's...Money....even had a gun held to my head over it. Guess Im just a little biast.
I've won tourney's and money for it too, I even have a 15"ish heismanesque trophy for winning won. That doesn't make it a better game. I've won money and tourney's in the halo series as well, but I can recognize that other shooters might be better (COD:4 and K2 for example).
And I said I have had similar experience with the game and others yet I am not bias. So yes, I am saying you are wrong.
