Hey, congrats to you guys, you got it done. You had a better team, and a better coach. I'm disappointed to lose, but not too sorry to lose to you guys, you're the best team in the NBA. You earned this trophy, and I hope to see you guys in future playoffs games. It was a good series guy, enjoy your win.
Congratulations to the Lakers fans and the Lakers themselves. They played a helluva series. Kobe is still ridiculous, which is a good thing. Congrats to the Magic for getting to the finals, that's not easy either.
3 years ago, the lakers started to rebuild... 3 years later they are NBA Champions, so all i have to say is, why not us? Congrats lakers!
If the Magic had not choked harder than Latrell Sprewell at the end of a couple of these games this would have been a very different series.
Thanks for your thoughts that could have been left in the Finals thread. 'If' left town with 'coulda' 'woulda' and 'shoulda'. The Lakers earned it, nuff said.
Exactly. They earned it. They're the better team. But next year, we will win it. Dwight Howard will dominate.
"if" Biggest word in the English language That being said....I spent about $60 on two championship hats in the past 48 hours. Thank you Pens!! Thank you Lakers!!
as much as i despise Kobe, and think the Lakers fans are extremely spoiled, I'll give my props on a well executed Championship run. Kobe is a freaking robot. Jackson now has 10 freaking rings. Magic fans, here me when I say this. This is only the beginning. I don't see Dwight pulling a Shaq on us anytime soon. Hopefully Dwight channels the pain he is feeling right now into relentless dedication toward developing a short range jump shot. Plus our whole team now has hard earned playoff experience. Lets hope for more of Courtney Lee and less of J.J. Brickshot in 09-10.
Nice thread Jaydog. As a Lakers fan, this is awesome. Expected, but nonetheless, awesome. I think I am happiest for Derek Fisher. In the span of two solid games to end the series, he has relieved me of any doubts I had about him going into these playoffs. His career is winding down, but his play and leadership throughout the playoffs was gritty, tough and memorable. Congrats fellow Lakers fans!
Agree. This is only the beginning. I disagree, however, about JJ. He has been playing well when given time.
Congratulations to you as a Lakers fan, winning a championship is a wonderful feeling. My statement was more along the lines that I wish it had been a more competitive series (one that I expected the Lakers to win all along) that I was hoping to see go seven games instead of five. I'm a huge Phil Jackson fan, have been since his early days in Chicago. First coach with a ring for every finger.
Congrats Lakers, Im hoping for a rematch in next year's finals, let's make a regular date for this series.
