I thought the Heat were making a play for Iverson? Maybe they should trade for Rip?

Ship Cook and someone else for Hamilton.

Oh no, see...next season the Heat will sign a MAX FA, even though they cannot guarantee that, and then they can sign another upper tier player, even though several other teams will try to do that as well, and there are no guarantees of landing the players the Heat will need..

Wade is a smarter then to buy the "gold at the end of the rainbow in 2010" stuff.

I believe so. The only thing I've heard in regards to Marbury this off-season is his "warning" to players that sought after by the Knicks.

Good news to hear that Shannon Brown is coming back to L.A. I really think he will be the first guard off the bench to spell Derek Fisher going into next season. I might even predict that he is starting by year end.

I think this also means that Nate Robinson will be anywhere BUT L.A. next year. I wouldn't mind seeing him suit up with Golden State actually...

Just what GS needs.,..another combo guard. Maybe they can play Nate at center since he plays tougher then Biendrins. :pointlol:

That squad played great when Baron ran the point. If Nate can handle the ball and run, his teammates will respond with Nellie at the helm. if nothing else, they would be fun to watch.

He signed with Houston. He was going to sign with Cavs from what I read but then went back to Houston. Apparently he asked LeBron if he would stick past 2010 and LeBron told him "of course".

Actually he is on board with the plan as well if you read every statement he ever makes...it isn;t my fault that you fell for this dry season media bull****.

I would go as far as to say that you have to be stupid or desperate to think he is going anywhere.

BTW..he is selling his house in Pinecrest.....OOOOHHH AHHHHHH OMG!!!!!! HE IS LEAVING!!!!!!!!!!!

oh...there is that 10 million dollar property on the beach he bought last year. Oh.

so knick fans....go ahead..slit your wrists.

BTW Padre...The Pistons lose Billups, Rasheed and will lose Iverson...then add Charlie and Ben Gordon..and you think they got better?

    uhh...Nope.

BTW...to believe Wade is leaving...you have to believe that:

    A) He is willing to take one less year in a deal.

    B) take pay increases of 8% instead of 10% every year.

    C) take 30 Million dollars less than he would get here.

    D) Go to 1 of only 4 teams that will have the amount of cap space that would be able to offer the max.

    E) Go to those situations taking the 30 million less and being in a worse situation.

BTW..of those 4...the best situation? Houston. Oh yeah..who wouldn't want to take a 30 million dollar pay cut to play with Von Wafer and Aaron Brooks?

He also said that he wants to stay here his entire career about 14 times....in the last few days.

why would I want him to shut up about staying here?

If the Heat look and play like crap this season, absolutely, he will be 28 heading into 2010, he won't be happy at wasting a year of his career for "the plan" and he could just sign a one or two year deal to try and win a second title.

Human nature Sect, never under estimate how competitive these guys are, like Artest signing for the MLE in LA...

Artest took the most money he could get BTW. NOBODY offered MORE than the MLE and he lives in LA.

and WHO says the Heat is going to look and play like crap?

you are just sticking crap up on the wall to try to make this asinine argument.

I will sign a 1 or 2 year with the lakers before Wade signs a 1 or 2 year deal with anybody. that is just dumb padre. come on.

his injury history known.... and you think he is gonna leave 90 million on the table. ohhhhhkay.

first you thought he would leave 30 million on the table,,,now you think that him leaving 90 million on the table is a possibility.

I think this discussion is over.

blame the clips for cutting their offer by 20 million.

Sure, at what point is this all about the money, and at what point do players wish to, you know, win Titles? These guys are already quite wealthy, you seem to overlook that as well.

And Artest could have gotten more money then the MLE, don't kid yourself, especially with CA taxes, players get cut up with a City Income Tax at every stop in CA, he really is playing for less out there.

He could go to a team who can't offer him a max if they could all but assure him many chances at a ring.

Well yeh, thats true about any player, duh. But I will say Philly was not THAT much more competitive than the Clips at the time he signed with them. Matter of fact seems to me they became a better team when he went out.

Problem is that this will still be the best situation for him to win titles.

Wade is not WEALTHY yet. he is rich.

he is not worth 100 million. He will be next year.

Artest was offered 1 year deals from Cleveland, Houston and Miami for the MLE. He took 3 years. he went with the highest bidder.

Artest lives in LA. He is nuts..he doesn;t think about what he is doing.

I seriousely think D Wade can get more money from the Knicks if he leaves.
If the Knicks sign Lebron, and make an offer to D Wade, make no mistake about it, he will leave.

I wish you were correct but its written in to the cba between the players and owners that the team that had the players rights previously can offer the most money. I can still dream though about lebron and wade being knicks

It will be hard for Wade to leave Miami, Section is right. But, if history has taught us anything (Boozer, Brand, B. Davis) is that things are not final in the NBA, until they are final. I know, a little Yogi Berra, there, but the point is, no one knows for sure until the contract is signed.

Hell, Ric Bucher bet HIS HOUSE that Kobe would never suit up for the Lakers again. Two years, an MVP, All-Star MVP, NBA Championship, NBA Championship MVP and counting, later, and Bucher has yet to give up the keys to his place.

By the way, I saw Bucher at the airport in San Francisco back in April. He was walking along by himself and no one seemed to recognize him. Ss I yelled out, "Hey Bucher!" He turned, smile on his face, happier than **** that someone recognized him. Then he saw me. I yelled "You suck!" His smile turned into a disappointed frown and he turned and walked away.

Nothing like ruining a reporters day at seven in the morning!

    Well...HE CAN'T by NBA rules.

and Wade will NEVER go anywhere Lebron is...and Lebron will never go where Wade is.

Both like being "the man" and will not share the spotlight.

BTW..for that scenario to happen...you would need both Lebron and Wade to take paycuts.

    not gonna happen.

The knicks will get Amare if they are lucky.

No Bron, Wade for you. Knick fans...just accept your fate already.

BTW...the way it works is like this:

The Original team can offer 10% increases per year while any new team can only offer 8%. They can also offer an extra year. They can also add on incentives such as league MVP bonuses while the new team cannot.

In the end it is around 30 million dollars at a MINIMUM that any of these players would leave on the table to go elsewhere.

part of being "competetive" is getting the "dollars"..and being "paid"...

Trust me..it would kill Lebron or Wade to make less than the other.

For all the talk about 2010 being the Summer of LeBron and Wade (and whoever else), it's worth remembering that the only max-contract free agent to switch teams is Shaq, I believe. (If I'm forgetting someone else who turned down a max contract from his old team, please let me know.) The additional $20-30 million you can earn by staying put is a damn powerful incentive.
