    an innoucous tweet from OmarK:

JP smoking Big Jake...our all pro LT.

Well, JP was an all pro as well and last Training Camp:

Last season Big Jake was being rag dolled by Charlie Anderson (of all people), so Jake is improving as well.

As long as Ricky isn't doing the smoking, I'm happy. Good to see JP is still bringing it.

Jake will be facing Shawn Merriman, Dwight Freeney, Julius Peppers (maybe), Mario Williams, James Harrison this year. He is gonna have his hands full, so I'm glad Joey is giving him hell.

    Well away from here
Freeney and Harrison will be the most likely to cause Jake trouble. He can be bulrushed, and both of those players have a low center of gravity and will use the move to win matchups.

I love this, get him mad Joey, push him hard, teach him some new tricks, he's going to need them going up against the defenses we face this season. I hope they have JT doing the same thing to Jake as well, JT has a few moves as well, and a lot more sacks in his career than Joey.

This is the time of year I want this to happen to Big Jake, get him motivated and mad, and train him up, get the mistakes done in TC so they don't happen in the regular season.

There is a alot up in the air about JT PR, for example he has hit the weight pile this offseason, that is clear, will that additional strength help him or hurt his speed rush?

JT is also a craftier pass rusher than JP is imho, a one on one drill won't highlight what JT does well, anticipate the snap count and use leverage at an angle to go by the Tackle.

Jake was owned by Charlie Anderson last season, this year with a season under his belt Big Jake will only be better.

And keep an eye on Andrew Gardner, his shoulder is healed and he is not up to our strength standards, but he has innate talent, this is our best situation at LT possibly in a decade.

    Per Mike Berardino's addendum:

Cam Wake on Vern Carey should be a good matchup for both players, Vern C is more of a mauler than a dancer at Tackle, Wake can speed rush, but his bullrush needs work, Vern C needs work on dealing with speed rushers and Wake so far can do that and challenge Vern C.

As on observation, Wake is sort of being used as a one trick pony, raw speed vs every different tackle, if a Tackle cannot deal with Wake, they more than likely cannot deal with JT or JP.

I love the underlying tone in this thread.....

Were SO not worried about Jake Long.

I literally could not keep my eyes off the guy when we played last year. great player to watch play the game.
