Man just ran 9.58 in the 100m. I wonder if this man will ever be beat, watch the video. Tyson Gay ran a 9.71. 9.71. Would have been the second fastest time in history. .02 behind that Olympic record.....and it's not close. Man.
I wish he could catch a football. All he'd have to do is get off the line and run a go route. Then you gotta have a guy that can get it to him in stride. On second thought, he could probably stop catch the ball and still no one would catch him.
The guy is a freak. To be breaking World Records at 21 and being the most dominant 100m runner on the planet is scary. Could be on top for another 10 years.
I ran a 100 yards/meters way faster then that one afternoon when a pitbull was chasing me down and alley. My feet barely touched the ground. I later found out he was a friendly dog. He just wanted to play. His name was Scrappy.
I have a hard time believing these guys aren't on some serious PED's. If you look at the times put up in the 1990's, these guys are shattering them. They're running even faster than guys who were busted for PED's. If Bolt and Gay are clean. Props to them.
Gay voluntarily had his blood taken before the Olympics so that all future tests can be compared with it. So that if any levels spike/dip/whatever, it will be seen. His thing is, he wants to be an example and prove he's a clean athlete. I don't know about Bolt, but I was listening to a guy on ESPN saying that going all the way back to when he was 14-15 he was like this. He broke all the records for his age group coming up and they still stand to this day. The remark was made that....as a human being....he's 30 years ahead of his time. Bob Beamon type stuff. Whether he was given stuff way back then I don't know. But the ESPN guy believes he and Gay are clean.
On ESPN they said he could run the 40 in 2.95 seconds its also refreshing to hear them talk about someone other than Vick or Favre.
Worlds fastest man, but not worlds greatest athlete!!!! Let him enter the Decathlon and than we can talk.
Sure seems to be....but making the leap that his speed (alone) equates to Greatest Athlete - even Top 5 as it was speculated - is a stretch. He can run fast....faster than anyone in History, and faster than his current competition (some of who are setting their own speed records for their Country, etc). But Athlete?? That label gets tossed around to easily....Nascar Drivers are Athletes in some folks minds! Defining what is a sport vs what is an event is a whole different thread....but not all participants are "Athletes" and not all events are sports. ESPN2 has proven that
