The trade also involves sending OG Ike Ndukwe to the Chiefs, according to Jeff Darlington, of the Miami Herald. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
Late round for two guys? Me thinks Ireland has his eyes on some players (OL) from other teams that are about to be cut.
Yup, 2 guys for 1 late round pick is strange. There's got to be someone they want to sign. Probably more than one guy.
I can see why he wanted to get rid of Alleman but Ndukwe is a small surprise. He's not great at anything and he's limited but he provides depth. Wonder if this is to free up a spot for Mark Lewis on the 53 roster.
FrontOffice don't make too many bad deals I would assume they acted in our interest & we'll see the reasoning behind the move as the season progresses I assure you: was not a father-in-law thing, it's all about the Dolphins
man you guys are quick. i saw this news scroll across my tv and i was hoping to be the first one to post it. lol .yeah right! anyway, This front office hasn't given me a reason to doubt them. Just sit back and relax! it will make sense shortly. I'm sure they planned on getting rid of them anyway, so they got the most they could. something is always better than nothing. But i do think there's a little more to it than this. I think we'll get a player from the chiefs. or maybe we're getting the chiefs to give another team a player so we can get a player from the other team. i hope that made sense. i made sense in my head. that's all that matters! lol
I found it odd that the management kept Brandon Frye. He is not impressive at all as a left tackle. Far from it, in my opinion. I don't like Ndukwe either but man, Frye is awful.
Roberto Garza from Chicago....Dallas Reynolds maybe...Philly is Reaaly deep at OT...King Dunlap, Mike McGlynn, Fenuki Topou, Winston Justice, Jason Peters, Chris Patrick, ...I take any of those over Ndukwe...........................
BTW...I think we already own their 7..correct?...so the conditional or whateverpick would have to be at least a 6?
What this tells me is Gardner and Murphy have been coming along. Better depth with more upside. Also, I'd guess the picks will depend on whether Allenman and Ndukwe end up seeing playing time or starting (winning job or via injury to starter). The Pioli-Parcells connection does it again.
From what we have seen out of this administration so far, I am not worried at all about what we got for them. It was probably the best that could have been done and it will surely benefit the Dolphins. Both were likely in line to be cut anyway. I imagine the compensation is conditional on their playing time at KC anyway. I totally trust Parcells and Ireland on this sort of thing.
Well, it seems that Frye is Ike's replacement as a G/T, Ndukwe was not exactly Bill Fralic last season, and Alleman was constantly overpowered at Guard but apparently KC wants to use him at Center.
We could ship them B London David Martin and a 2nd rounder for Glenn Dorsey...that would keep the peace..
