10 team keeper league -- 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF -- my two keepers from last year were: Jones-Drew (2) and Jonathan Stewart (5). Roster: QB - Matt Schaub, David Garrard RB - Maurice Jones-Drew, Jonathan Stewart, Beanie Wells, Jamal Lewis, Shonn Greene WR - Larry Fitzgerald, Dwayne Bowe, Kevin Walter, Patrick Crayton, Domenik Hixon, Davone Bess and Josh Morgan TE - Greg Olsen K - Ryan Longwell DEF - Undecided, going to play matchups week-to-week. Any thoughts/comments would be much appreciated.
I guess my first thought would be why the hell did you keep Jonathan Stewart? Your team looks ok. You could really use a more consistant #3 WR and #2 RB. I would def not feel comfortable starting those 2 spots with the guys on your team right now. The rest looks good tho.
He averaged 4.5 ypc and scored 10 touchdowns last year on less than 200 touches. If Stewart just duplicates his production from a year ago, he's a very solid #2 RB. Anything more, and he's a steal in round 5. Kevin Walter is ridiculously underrated as a fantasy WR. Last year, Walter scored more fantasy points than: Wes Welker, DeSean Jackson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Santonio Holmes, among others. As your clear #3 option, that's pretty solid. And I'm hoping to get some breakout production from the likes of a group including Crayton, Hixon and Morgan.
Yea but he also has missed a ton of time with injuries last year and now he's missed about 2 weeks of camp. I just would figure that you'd have somebody else who was a better option with less issues. Walter is underrated but he def did not score more than everyone on that list, at least not in PPR. My main problem with Walter is that he's inconsistent as hell. Too many 20 point games followed up with 3 or 4 pointers. I think the rest of the guys in that group will probably be the same way. Inconsistency can kill you in FF.
This is definitely true. Walter was wildly inconsistent last year, so I'm really banking on a healthy Schaub (in more ways than one). Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it.
No problem. I'm also banking on Shaub as my QB in two of my leagues. Even with Shaub healthy though, I think Walter will still be inconsistent. He was last season and I don't see that changing with Shaub's love of AJ and Daniels and also having Slaton thriving.
