Ted Ginn Jr. I officially put you on notice

Ted Ginn, as a faithful fan for 20 years, and a fan who has actually know what was going on for 8, I put you on notice.

Last night, you cost us the win. Yes, there were other mistakes that played out over that game, but when all is said and done, you, sir, dropped 2 passes in the endzone. That is completely unacceptable. Yup, you looked good in pass routes, yup you made a fairly good statistically showing tonight, but when it really counted, when your quaterback trusted you to make the play, you failed horribly. We as Dolphin Nation expect better. To be honest, I don't care about your stats, or how many yards you got. I, and I believe every other dolphan, would have traded those stats for just one of the two touchdown passes you dropped. Chris Chambers for years showed that he could make the acrobatic catch, but when it came to the clutch catch, he grew a huge case of the dropsies. Dolphin Nation does not want, nor need, another Chris Chambers.

So Ted Ginn Jr. I put you on notice. Get your crap together, and start making the clutch passes, or Get ready to find yourself a new team.

Just for the record if he catches the 1st TD, there is no telling how the rest of the game played out. The only one that would have given any certainty to the game was the 2nd one. And even then it would have left like 20 secs on the clock, which was plenty enough time for Manning to get them back in FG range given the complete sucktitude of our defense that game.

    lol. oh boy.

Yea Ginn lost the game all by himself. Please. I am fine "putting people on notice" but lets not stop the list at Ginn then. I mean come on.. Fasano drops a ball, Ginn drops 3, The defense, well they didn't really do anything. The clock management was suspect. We win as a team we lose as a team. Hold Ginn accountable but do the same service for the others as well

I wouldn't even consider the first TD throw a drop. Ginn was trying to stay in bounds. If he just goes for the catch, he'd be out of bounds.

These "blame Ted Ginn" posts are hilarious. 10-108 and he doesn't hang onto a difficult jump ball in the endzone coming out of the lights and all of a sudden he's the goat??

Last time I looked Ginn didn't give up an 80 yarder on the opening play, didn't play inside linebacker or safety and be steps late in coverage and miss tackle after tackle and he didn't allow the Colts to go 80 yards in 4 plays and 30 seconds to win the game. Nor did he miss a 49 yard field goal that would have made any tough catch in the endzone an irrelevance.

It's threads like these that make me happy to see Ted Ginn still has a lot of supporters. Since the day the kid was drafted he was criticized. Many never gave him a chance, yet he just keeps working his *** off to get better and better and it's paying off. He's made solid progress from his rookie season. He's been treated unfairly by a lot of people since day 1 and he never once complained about it...he just keeps working.

So Ted Ginn, I'm on your side. I believe in you. Just keep working at it and the noise from the doubters will disappear.

Your right, the defense really didn't do anything. But then again, it is Petyon Manning were talking about. How many times have we seen our very own Dan Marino do the same type thing, the defense knew he was going to pass and still he carved up defenses, no matter how good. Sean smith did a good job keeping reggie wayne in check and we were getting pressure on Peyton, it's just that Peyton is that good, not that our defense is that bad.

And i will give the first TD wasn't entirely ginn's fault. But the second one is on him, if you are that good, or at least clutch, then if you put two hands on a football, you come down with the catch in the endzone. Ted comes down with that pass, the defensive struggles, the missed field goal, hell even ted's earlier missed td are all irrelevent because Miami comes away with the win. I'm starting to feel about ted ginn what i felt for Chambers, i can't count on him to make the clutch catch.

Ginn needs to make that catch. He got both hands on the ball and should have came down with the ball plain and simple. I'm not going to go out and say he's horrible and lost us the game, but he showed that he isn't a top notch reciever. He's never going to be in the Fitzgerald, Wayne, A. Johnson status of reciever. He good last night as a possesion reciever, but those are a dime a dozen.

Also, the overthrow in the endzone, he had plenty of room to make that catch. It did look like the out of bounds was right there, but that was just the end of the dirt, had another foot for the out of bounds line. That should have been a TD as well.

Once again, he shouldn't be blamed for the loss, but he needs to come up with the catch when its there. It hit him in the hands, he needs to catch it.

    overall the team played well
    weakness: WR's
we need to go to free agency & pay the price

The dirty secret is, get used to seeing Ted Ginn playing this year, and being counted on to be our playmaking Wr.

Unless P Turner discovers his inner Anquan Boldin, Ginn is "the guy" on our Wr corps, Hartline, Greg C and Bess are all background musicians in our offense.

IMHO, Ginn had two chances and did not convert them, he will have more chances to convert chances into TD's as the season rolls along, I believe he will make those plays, or we will be in the Dez Bryant sweepstakes in April.

We really shouldnt have been put in that situation in the first place.

The loss falls firstly on Defense, secondly on coaching, and thirdly on that whole 3:00 drive.

Sorry but that catch wasn't THAT difficult.......we're just expecting the wrong guy to go up in traffic and make a play.

    Ok Enough Sort of

I read all of the Ginn stuff and I saw the whole game. With Respect to Boomer (and I do like what you normally state). Ginn was a problem last night, especially for a first round pick. I would think he should be able to get better separation and close on the ball. The first pass was one that HE SHOULD have gotten. Had he accelerated and had better field awareness he would have gotten 6. He didn’t show anything that STARS are made of. Regardless of Pennington, suspect arm strength (looked good last night). I do feel there were a lot of other issues but the ones that lost the game should be GINN and Clock management Imo.

    Hah! Uh, okay...

    • Dan Carpenter missed an important field goal earlier in the game.
    • Vernon Carey gave up a sack on the final drive.
    • Anthony Fasano dropped a TD pass.
    • Chad Pennington appeared to be in slow motion in the 2-minute situation.
    • Our first round pick (Rd1 Pick1!) from 2008 needed help to handle Dwight Freeney (Sigh -- will he ever be a lock-down, stalwart left tackle?).
    • AND (and this is an easy one here) ... the defense gave up 27 points in under 15 minutes of game time!

Ah, just put them all "on notice". What's the difference?

    - On the Carey sack, I thought he did what he usually does which is lead the guy outside and behind the QB. I thought Penny should've stepped up because he was pretty deep IMO.

    - Long didn't get help on every play. We don't know that he needed help for sure either, but it's not like it hurt us a lot to have Smiley and Brown help from time to time. I don't think it was a big deal personally.

****ing Ginn its his fault Wilson couldn't tackle last night. Why do we even have his sorry ***? I think I saw him tampering with Carps shoes before he missed that 47 yarder!

I agree - I think we should judge his entire career on one play.

If Bess missed it would there be this uproar? The 2007 draft is over. We already own Ginn - we can't go back and working THIS hard to say "I told you so" is just pathetic.

The guy is productive and made a ton of great plays in that game. Get over the play in the endzone.

I don't see anyone calling Jake Long a bust for missing on a few blocks last week.

Not sure how I'm an apologist, but if that label suits your mindset then so be it. Suffice to say that those people looking to knock Ginn will always do it. There's little to no understanding of the offensive system and the types of throws he's getting. Of the 10 catches, how many came to him in a position where he could make YAC? How does none sound? Unless he's supposed to make yards after the catch on a quick out or on a knee high thrown ball in triple coverage?

But you're right, it was definitely Ginn's fault that we lost. I mean how dare he lose this game for us?

I have never bashed Ted Ginn until that last game. He should have made those TD catches and the elite WR's in the NFL would have. Any WR chosen #9 overall should be a true elite. Yea the defense crapped itself on a few plays but even with that Ginn had a chance to win the game for us and he failed.

History is littered with players selected all over the first round who never lived up to their billing. Unfortunately for Ginn he had no choice over what number he was picked. No he's not an elite WR but he'd be much more appreciated in a team that played to his strengths, not in a Miami offense that generally shys away from feeding it's elite player in Ronnie Brown and therefore scares no-one, allowing teams to play man on Ginn and rolling the safety across to double up on him.

Both were difficult catches and you'd like to see him make the final one. The fact that he didn't in no way means that he cost us the game.
