Seein' as how it's Halloween season, I figured it's be about time for a scary movie thread. Gory, sci-fi horror, classics, or just plain scary. Post some of your favorites. to name a few: John Carpenter's 'The Thing' The Descent - Watch it with the lights off The Shining An American Werewolf In London - I saw this when I was 9 and didn't sleep that night. Alien Halloween 28 Days Later Silence of the Lambs The Fly - '86 remake Jaws - Another one I saw as a little kid, on the big screen, it kept me out of the ocean for years.
Annually we watched 'House of 1000 Corpses' for Halloween. That and the full gauntlet of Saw films. I've added Zombie's Halloween to the list as well.
My wife is actually the horror fan in the house. We're usually pretty busy during the month of October. Here's all the ones we watch frequently. - The Exorcist - The Omen - Poltergiest - The Shining - Dawn of the Dead (both the original and the remake) - Night of the Living Dead - 28 Days Later - 28 Weeks Later - Day of the Dead - The Evil Dead - The Evil Dead II - Army of Darkness - Psycho - Rosemary's Baby - Alien - Aliens - Jaws - Seven - Event Horizon - Mouth of Madness - Grindhouse Movies I'm also a big fan of horror comedies, though there aren't as many in that genre. (You could probably include Army of Darkness here, too). - Plan 9 From Outer Space (Don't judge me, lol) - The Nightmare Before Christmas (Also our favorite Christmas movie, lol) - Ghostbusters - Shaun of the Dead - Zombieland (Going to see this tonight)
Nabo let me know if Zombieland is worth it. Nice horror collection you've got going there about Nightmare Before Christmas, that movie is awesome
Terrifying movie. Love it from the opening scene in the hospital to the grainy 'home movies' during the credits. Plus, and this is huge, having Richard Cheese's version of Down With the Sickness in the film was outstanding.
