I dont think we have a shot at Berry but I'm down with McClain right now as our first rounder. He fills our biggest need IMO and is probably BPO at the same time. Man I'll be thrilled if we get him to replace Ayedele

Apparently Chris Mortensen spoke with a few GM's recently and the GM's stated that there's questions surrounding the build of Jimmy Clausen and they also expect surgery for Sam Bradford.

McClain is the defensive QB/leader we are sorely missing! He's like a Mike Singletary reincarnate in that regard.

Side note.... Daquan Bowers is a top 10 pick if the draft is tomorrow.

Sapp looked great today. He is sharing time with 2 other quality DE's so his stats will seem low this year. Spiller had a killer run. DT Jarvis Jenkins was an absolute menace! Deandre McDaniel is bigtime Safety potential. Boo Robinson looked pretty good for Wake.

I love how he thinks he can out smart Spurrier in the chess-match adjusting aspect of the game!!

Watch him on RB drags across the middle. He squares himself almost parallel to the sideline, facing the RB and LOS marker at the same time to keep himself within 5 yards so that he can check the RB out of the play. Unreal!! It's like 10 things are going on in his head at the same time without losing consciousness of any of them. I can't recall anything like it half way through their Junior year.

Side note...did you see Mount Cody run a stunt to the outside. I don't think I've seen anyone run that SO slow and still take such a wide/long arch. It looked like he was trying to run around an invisible version of himself directly in front of him. LOL

yeah if we get mcclain we'll have our impact inside backer. lol at the cody comment

btw i wonder if we're inquiring about derrick johnson from the chiefs. supposedly he's on the block

can you imagine having both derrick johnson and rolondo mcclain? noone would run on us period and TEs and RBs in the passing game wouldnt be a problem anymore

Oklahoma State's Russell Okung and Kendall Hunter impress me. Hunter, specifically, because he lacks great stature but his legs just keep on moving. Great lower body strength and he has some wiggle. Really like him and always have.

Ditto on that. Okung seems like a complete franchise LT IMO. I think I like him more than any tackle last year.

Let's see if Detroit passes on him. LOL.

That could definitely put our D over the top as our secondary matures. What would we do with Crowder? Rotate him in while McClain breaks in?

Agreed. I saw him drop in coverage too at 280 pounds.

EDIT: This is all I have to say about Terrence Cody, btw.

anybody dig Zane Beadles of Utah? I like the guy. Seems like he's got a nasty streak. Think he'll make a good Guard for some team

I'm really starting to love Golden Tate. Love how he is built and maybe he might interest the Phins in the role they wanted Percy Harvin for.

Okung is a superb tackle. Fundamentally very sound. Alen - your eyes don't decieve you: Beluga can play. I still think Ciron Black has a lot to offer at the next level.

So far, Okung is the best OT that I've seen but I've got quite a few more to go through. Glad to have confirmation from you on Baluga -- I was impressed with him on Saturday but I want to see more of him.

Did anyone see Anthony McCoy, TE from USC, play against Notre Dame? Big bodied player with nice hands, went up and got a high ball Kellen-Winslow style well downfield. He might be a nice prospect for us to take a look at in rd 2 or 3.

I've got to get an update on Russell Okung this year. I took a very close look at him last year...really failed to impress me. Just not there. This year, probably different.

I agree, have commented on that before, but his build is not all that gm's should worry about...The hype that kid is getting is mindboggling to me... ive been on the record since his freshman year that this dude has serious flaws in his game. i would'nt touch him with a ten foot pole.

Have been stepping up my tape watching as my machine fills up. Jumped ahead a few games and watched the Red River game at the weekend. Man there's two tackles there that have regressed HUGELY. One I can kind of give a semi-pass to in Trent Williams, only because he's changed from RT to LT but what is Adam Ulatoski's excuse? It's bad enough watching Williams dive again and again at the feet of Sergio Kindle and whiff or keeping his hands far too low in pass pro, then bend at the waist and get turnstyled inside, but Ulatoski's lost all technique, blocks with his head down and runs out to the second level quite literally like a chicken without a head and a firework up it's back passage.

    Staggering.

Colt McCoy is forcing things too much, pressing too hard and Gerald McCoy is just a stunning piece of footballing talent. Been saying it for 18 months but this kid is a whole big bag of awesome. He's simply unblockable. Unblockable. He and Ndamakong Suh should both go off the board in the top 5 picks.

Trent Williams is nowhere near the hype he's getting. Ciron Black is another overrated prospect. One Left Tackle who impressed me alot is Jamie Carpenter from Alabama. Seems pretty quick. He's a junior so he probably stays. Jason Fox and Ed Wang seemed alright

I like Ciron Black and you know why? He's been consistently good at the highest level of college football for a long time. To me he strikes me as a solid 2nd tier NFL tackle.

As a left tackle? He is so lumbersome and slow. He's big but I might like him better as a Right Tackle.

He's been a solid left tackle for LSU for four years. Is he elite quick? No. But he would certainly work in some offenses and he's technically solid. He's a big man to go around and he has great wings. He's a mauler in the run game and he's a much better player than Andrew Whitworth for example, who played at LSU before him and is the Bengals starting LT.

Remember, this is a kid who in last years draft which was loaded at left tackle, got a 2nd round grading from the ALWAYS low balling advisory committee.

I've never been impressed with Ulatoski's game. I watched him last year on a few occasions and wanted to gouge my eyes out. Then I watched him end the year getting his *** kicked against OSU IIRC.

Agreed on the two McCoy's though. Gerald McCoy will be entering the 2010 Draft, as well as Sam Bradford.

I like Jason Fox. Solid player IMO. I dislike Trent Williams. He's not quick enough off the line for me. A bit like Branden Albert getting off the line. I think Albert gave up all of his sacks to speed rushers last year.

Yep, you called Ulatoski and your disdain for him after last years RR game. Kudos my friend. He was eye gougingly bad and kept getting raped by a pretty average Auston English. His fundamentals are so poor.

Have you seen Selvish Capers at West Virginia? He looks like a kid who, with some coaching, could be a very good NFL left tackle.

Last time I saw an interior defensive lineman with the skillset of McCoy was Kevin Williams but I think McCoy is better.

Branden Albert is being played out of position IMO. I think he's a guard and I hope that he gets kicked inside when they get a decent tackle.

Demarco Murray is going to be an elite 3rd down back in the pros. He's silky smooth and catches EVERYTHING!

just curious what are your thoughts on DT Brian Price UCLA, if youve seen film on him? How does he compares to those 2.

He's only a JR but if he leaves early it'll be a big hit to the DL

I've seen little of Capers. I've got him on tape but haven't watched him yet. Last time I watched him, I was impressed but then the following game he looked pretty average. I agree that coaching would help him quite a bit and possibly take that next step.

Agreed on Albert. I think he could be one helluva Guard in this league because I've watched him get to the second level and just take multiple defenders out. He's impressive. He's not too bad on the exterior of the line IMO but he clearly needs some work there and I think when you invest sixty million into your quarterback, you need to keep him upright. Sadly, I don't think Albert will consistently do that for them because of his inability to get off the LOS quickly.

Murray is impressive and has always been an outstanding talent IMO. I remember watching him in the spring game absolutely tear up the Oklahoma defense and I thought to myself, "is this the new Peterson?" But he's been dinged up a lot. Great explosiveness though and very smooth cutting. I really like him, I just wish he would stay in one piece, much like CJ Spiller of Clemson.

I'm guessing they don't want to teams have an advantage of scouting this time around. Btw, just realized this is in Orlando. I've got to buy some tickets and get down there. Only fifty dollars for premium sideline seating.

Which advisory committee? I don't know if you remember but I started a thread in Club Level that displayed the grades given to players for the 2010 Draft by BLESTO and National. Ciron Black got a 3/4th round from BLESTO whilst National gave him a FA grade.
