Will Sam Bradford slide now after 2 shoulder injuries in the same season?

    Well away from here
I was watching the red river war and Bradford just went down again. To be honest, the hit was not that serious in terms of being driven into the ground. It was not Pennyesque, but it also wasn't the worst hit I've seen. Bradford's shoulder was not extended this time though.

I just have to wonder how NFL types will look at Bradford's issues this season? Will these shoulder issues cause him to slide down draft board simply due to medical concerns.

Could Bradford, a top 10 pick in all likelihood, drop in the draft? And if so, how far? Will he fall out of the top 20, the first round? The quarterback class coming into this season looked good at the top. But, with Snead playing like a turd, Bradford's injury issues does the class lose a good deal of it's luster?

How good is this season's quarterback class?

Or, am I being taught not to be too hasty with regards to Bradford's injury?

I think it is a concern, but if it is that big a concern, Bradford can just come back for his senior season.

I still have bit of a difficult time seeing Bradford slide. I think the injury is going to be red flagged by many teams but with the way quarterbacks are playing, as you noted, I'm not sure if he drops much, if at all. One could say that with the questions surrounding Bradford, McCoy moves up the draft board for some but he's got the questions around arm strength and taking snaps under center. Jake locker and (a healthy) Tony Pike I think benefit from this as well as Jimmy Clausen. These three have played well from what I've watched and they are going to rise. Bradford's still a top quarterback talent and I still think he's going to go pretty high even though I could see a team looking at him and thinking if this plays out like Matt Schaub has in Houston. Is he constantly going to be injured like Schaub for example? If so, is it worth the pick? Maybe not but Bradford may be your best QB on the board.

Also, I think Suh and McCoy benefit from this. With the questions surrounding the top quarterbacks, these guys are going to rise even more, especially Suh.

Depending on how the season plays out, I wouldn't be surprised to see him stick around for his senior year.

FWIW, I don't think McCoy is gonna make it in the pros.

Yeah, still doesn't help his case though because he's constantly dinged up. He had so much potential too coming out of HS.

Bradford's shoulder never fully healed so he just reinjured it. If he was smart he would sit out the rest of the year.

Wasn't it reported surgery could be needed, even after his return?

Weak qb class this year imo..ive had some questions about bradfords arm strength. thats really got to be looked at closely now, i havent studied Tony pike yet but from what ive seen he doesnt compare to flacco, Flaco plays just like he did from his college tape, mccoy's a little interesting, in the drew brees mode.... who cares though right, we got ours.

Lets just name our draft this year the linebacker draft.

I'm not a fan of Bradford to begin with so this injury just further sours me on him. To me he's Chad Pennington now. I personally wouldnt spend more than a 2nd on him but I'm sure there will be some team desperate enough for a QB who might bite in the first, probably 16-32. To me you dont spend a first rounder on fragile china doll

I think there were always going to be questions about Sam Bradford, injury or not, due to the offense he is coming from. He looks like another quarterback that has had his numbers fluffed up by virtue of playing in the spread offense. I've always questioned whether he had the arm strength to throw the deep out and the deep comeback passes from the opposite hash mark. Now with the injury, a guy that I was considering for my top 5 quarterbacks may not make it there. I do like his knowledge of the passing game though, and I do feel that he could be a similar player to Chad Pennington in the NFL.

My top two NFL prospects at this positon are Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame and Jake Locker from Washington. Jake Locker is a guy who very possibly could have been #1 if he had gotten the coaching that he is getting from Stev Sarkisian this year. Right now, those guys are the top two. I think there is a drop off after those two that is very large right now. My #3 guy right now would probably be Jacory Harris as a third year sophomore, but that kid has a lot of things he needs to work on. I like his presence in the pocket, and I like his down the field accuracy. I don't like how he falls a part when he gets pressured.

As bad as I hate to, I'd probably put Jevan Snead at #4. He's got some obvious flaws in his game with his happy feet and lack of poise under pressure, but he showed last season that with time, he is a heck of a quarterback that is accurate. He misses Michael Oher big time.

I would probably put Sam Bradford at #5 simply because I think he will make the easiest transition from the spread to the pro style offense of the spread quartebacks.

Tony Pike would probably be 6th on my list.

I'm a fan of both as well, Locker is my favorite. Clausen's talent I like quite a bit but his coaching makes me uncomfortable. What I mean by that is Charlie Weis did wonders with Brady Quinn at Notre Dame and Quinn has, thus far, flopped. I've never been sold on Quinn so my comment may be premature and a bit biased but he just doesn't have "it" to me. Also, Weis did a very good job developing Tom Brady. Is he making Clausen better than he is? I'm not so sure because I like the way Clausen's developed but I'm not going to dismiss it either.

He is a true sophmore not a third year. Marve was the one who redshirted.

Pretty good list. I like Pike the most but I always have a bit of a hesitation drafting QBs from those types of offenses. Ideally I would love to draft him in the 2nd and do a Kevin Kolb where I sit him for a year or two.

I'm still not sure what I think of Clausen. He's got a bit of the winner in him but I wonder if it will translate in the pros.

Locker intrigues me but I havent seen enough games to make a judgement (only one so far)

I give you props for mentioning Snead. His deficiencies are obvious but there is a bit of a fighter buried underneath that I like. I think he has a shot of surprising people in the pros if he's drafted by a good team. If I were a GM looking for a QB I would target Pike if I have absolutely need one and Snead if I can gamble. Where do you think Snead would go? 4th? 5th?

If Snead can put together a very solid offseason, I think he can jump back up to the 3rd.

I think a great workout could easily push him to the 2nd. Not a shock to see a team reach for a QB

Snead just can't be trusted. Locker, Pike, Clausen, Bradford and McCoy are the class of the field. I still like Zac Robinson of Oklahoma State. Kid has some real moxie. I'd trust him more than Jevan Snead.

Boom.....IMHO it is tougher to read Jevan Snead than any other QB in a few years now. The kids tools have not changed...he still has that nice release, size and that arm.....but I have watched Ole Miss a few times and he has had zero time to throw and is doing more on anticipation routes now more than ever before...and his WR's are not very good or getting separation so he is making anticipation throws into anticipated openings that are very small windows..I agree there are a couple ways to look at Sneed and many reasons to downgrade him but I almost see him maturing as when he left UT he did not exactly value bridges yet he has been beaten to a pulp this year and has not thrown his teammates specifically OL under the bus.

I think we are seeing what kind of system Snead can play in and what he cannot do ...but his tools have not changed much.....this kid lost Oher, Wallace, and a few others and now has McCluster and that is pretty much it....Bradley Sowell is the worst starting OT in the SEC...maybe the damn country and he is lucky Sowell has not got him killed yet....

Just my 2 cents but I personally would not downgrade Snead too much on performance right now but try and look more at tools and development of his game and what he is doing different........but hey that is just me and you are the guru....BTW I like ZR a lot also, Pike....yeppers, McCoy very much, Bradford a bit less than McCoy, Locker is scrambled eggs IMHO but I want him on my side in a fight, Clausen has room to grow but does not do it for me personally yet.

Nice post My Two Cents. I have more Snead to watch on tape, suffice to say that he worries me greatly. That said, with Henne, it's not our problem.

I think he was easily a top 1-7 pick before but now teams have to take a harder look at his injury. I would guess that he slide to the middle of the first round but not later than that.

Yes, I believe it's something like that. I think Snead will end up coming out. I still like him a bit, I just think it's very hard to paint a picture on him. He's tough as nails but I question his decision making and he seems to have happy feet.
