http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx He has had his playing time limited as of late. Looks like they have seen enough of him
Can't help but think this management will look at him and maybe even consider resigning him if he works out decently. I can see it.
I don't think we will. He has been labeled a "Potential" guy. One of those guys that had tons of potential but couldn't take the next step.
Think so? I know he has a lot of supporters in the area but I would be pretty surprised if we sign him. Not that I didn't like him when he was here, but I just don't see him fitting in due to the drop issues. But maybe a return home could be his remedy?
Your really believe that? He has Rivers throwing to him and is surrounded by Sproles, Tomlinson, Gates and Vincent Jackson and has 122 yards on the year so far. If he is isn't productive in that offense no way he will be in ours.
Not true Uncle Pagan. He's lost much in his years away. He's lost his job to Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee.
He's all done. I'm all for adding some help at WR, but Chris Chambers is not the answer. By the way, it will go unnoticed but what a great trade by Candy. One of their only quality personnel decisions aside from drafting Soliai.
you need to put a waiver claim on him So the bottom 15ish teams below us all have to not claim him and we have to claim him
Merged 3x; Breaking News: Chargers release Chris Chambers Schefter just broke it on NFL live. Maybe we could bring him back to drop a few balls. No link yet, but here's a tweet from Schefter from about 30 min ago. Chargers released WR Chris Chambers. 31 minutes ago from web http://twitter.com/adam_schefter Edit: Fox Sports Link Clicky
Chambers? I hate doing this, but the Charges just released him. Are we interested? If a Waiver Claim, it would cost us 2.5 Million..... Personally I don't think so, but would he be enough of an improvement to be worth it?
Chambers to be released Per Shefter on NFL live. So... What do we think? I'm open for bringing him back. He can run the vanilla comebacks and out routes that is our offense and probably do it better than Bess/Ginn.
He should get a workout, but will have to clear waivers. Still just as good as any of our current options.
I wouldn't be toooo surprised if we at least look at him. Chambers isn't going to be a long term solution, we already performed that test. Surprised they released him midway through the season though. I always like to see us looking at upgrades, not that I think Chambers would be a big upgrade, but eh, worth a look.
I think we need to get him. I was listening to wqam before the game this year, and he said he wanted to come back and maybe retire a Dolphin. Could be another gem that fell from the sky like Penny did.
Probably an upgrade over what we currently have. Because we currently have next to nothing at wide receiver. Might be at least worth a shot but I doubt the FO will bring him in.
I'm the biggest Chambers homer but he has not looked good since Miami knocked him out of the game last year.
He is Terrible now. Sorry I was a big Chambers fan but he has lost it and is definitely no upgrade to what we have. On the year he has 9 catches for 122yds and a TD. This is on an offense with Rivers, Tomlinson, Sproles, Gates, and Jackson. If he can't be productive in that offense do you really expect him to shine on ours? He just isn't what he used to be. Pass
Sure, i would take my chance. But I don't run the team, and personally, i dont think our FO would bring him back. Plus, i doubt he will make it to us thought waiver wire.
You do remember who is calling the offense there right? Last time I checked none of the guys mentioned above are having great years either. Adrian Peterson would look like a scrub if Norv turner had his hands on him. With that said his best years are probably behind him not saying they were that great but even keyshawn Johnson could start in this corp
I take him back in a heartbeat. A big red zone threat is EXACTLY what this team needs. He's not the best, but he'll come free and hopefully at a pretty cheap price after renegotiating
I'm a huge Chambers homer too. I would take him back in a second! He may not be the most sure handed, but the big play circus catches would be awesome
Is there any rule or way for the NFL to prevent against doing this as a trade this late in the year a la MLB? You waive the guy, and then only let a certain team pick up the contract, blocking anyone else by taking him back? Then once he's at the team you have a deal with, they send you a pick for nothing, or maybe a crap player that was going to be cut anyway?
Look at his stats on the year and look at his surrounding cast. If he can't be productive in San Diego no way he outplays anyone in Miami
