I agree that the offense needs to be improved and Sparano is going to get their attention about that.

And hence the difference between Sparano and Fat Rex. We win and Tony looks for ways to improve. Jets lose and Fat Rex looks for excuses.

Amazing we almost set a franchise record for fewest yards and still scored 30 points. Just goes to show you how some stats are overrated.

I don't think the offense was as bad as some are making it out to be. It wasn't great by any means, but they were barely on the field on the 2nd half.

Agreed Sparano is humble and has way more class than to make excuses when we lose and knows when to give credit to other teams. Rex just likes to talk a big game and make excuses for why they should have won. It's is too bad games are won by making plays not excuses, talk is cheap it is about performing on the field.

Why he couldnt have had this attitude before the trade deadline is beyond me.. Sounds like hallow promisses. You can't get anything good out there now..than again there is next year..

Yeah Im bummed on this FO and coaching staff for not addressing issues while we had options..Even after that horrible win..

Well, how about this one? I think we were 1 for 7 on 3rd downs in the first half.

But you have to think about who was out there? I mean, yeah, we could've gotten Edwards in the offseason, but for Brown? I don't think so.

And then we were in the mix with Cribbs before the deadline, but there were several other teams looking at him essentially driving up the price. I am glad they did not spend unwisely before the deadline.

Think about it, we have what is essentially a rook at the QB position once Penny goes down, and he has a splendid game (con Ginn) and we are in a good position. Heck, I actually thought that the Henne/Ginn combo would continue. But it was just one game. Hindsight is 20/20, but trading away draft picks when we were 1-3 just does not make sense.

Miami's FO is in this for the long-haul, and they will not always make the right decision, but at least we're not "Failing forward fast".

Trust me, these coaches know what we know. That's why Sparano put splinters in Ginn's butt. Maybe it works? Maybe it doesn't? All I know is I am glad the direction this team is going. It all can't be fixed in a year or two. The season is a marathon, not a footrace.

It's simply speculation by a few people in the media (not necessarily local media).

Call me naive or cynical or whatever, but 'how' does Sparano intend to fix the offenses's problems?

It's not like we have some secret location where great players are stashed, he has to work with what we have, and simply taking TG off of Wr is not exactly a offense changing move.

We simply must find a replacement for what David Martin used to bring to the table, Fasano has regressed, Haynos is more of a blocker, what Kory Sperry is going to change the offense?

I'd love to hear some ideas on how he is planning on changing things.

Maybe by having 3 WRs (or maybe more, gasp!) out in patterns at the same times on occasion, rather than settling for Lou Polite and Joey Haynos split out wide. Maybe using the shotgun formation. Maybe activating Patrick Turner. Maybe not using play action on 3rd and long. Maybe running some f'in screens, or at least passing the ball to Ronnie more.

Can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****... We have no offensive weapons outside our running game and a very young QB.

It's conceivable the FO did everything besides give away the draft (thank god) to bring someone in before the trade deadline. Other teams know how desperate we are for a #1 and probably tried to take advantage of that. I for one am glad we don't have a FO that hits the panic button and did something stupid like give up a 1st and 3rd for Bowe or Smith. Patience in the draft will get us our #1 or a free agent that we don't have to pay and give up picks for.

We need to get Ronnie more involved in the passing game, and incorporate more quick passing routes such as slants to Ginn and Bess. Too many times againts the Jets we were caught in third and long.
