Just thought I would pass this along to all of you who frequent Facebook. I know people have been requesting it for quite sometime now. It's a Firefox add-on and it works great. http://techtified.com/2009/11/new-firefox-plugin-will-let-you-dislike-stories-on-facebook/
when someone posts something offensive, or that i disagree with, i generally ignore it, or click on the right corner of the post and "hide" either that person or the post itself. but i guess there is room for a third option. thanks for posting.
The one thing that bothers me about Facebook is the all-or-nothing access policy they allow to apps. If you accept an invitation to something like mafia wars, for example, you HAVE TO allow it access to all your info and all YOUR FRIENDS' INFO. That sucks because the app writers can then mine email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses from everyone - without their explicit consent.
This is precisely why I have never allowed any of that onto my account. I don't like the all-or-nothing aspect of it. Basically they can get rich selling personal info the way Daniel Snyder did. Remember the "all of your photos are now ours and we can do whatever we want with them" dust up over the summer?
